I think theres no free firewall present in the internet. The only free is AVG Internet Security for 30days and Norten Internet Security for 1year subscription.

ZoneAlarm firewall... but if you are a begginer start with something like Windows firewall and try to learn all about it. After that get something more advanced to protect you because Winsows firewall sucks. ZoneAlarm is perfect for that, or you might get Sygate personal which is nice too.
