Kiwi Publishing is hosting a writing contest for their Thin Threads series. It's along the same vein as Chicken Soup or Cup of Comfort. The publisher defines a "thin thread" as a "moment that lead to a positive change(not a thought through process or decision)." Another example would be a moment you are faced with a fork in the road, and you make a decision that ends up being life-altering. Or maybe you made an impulsive decision that changed your life for the better. What is your thin thread? I thought we could discuss them here. If you are interested in entering the writing contest (I am in no way affiliated with it)as it does pay if they publish your story, you can Google Kiwi Publishing or access it from a link from my site which is on my profile. If you do decide to enter, Good Luck!

hi there, my thin thread i guess would be when i decided to stand up for myself against my aunt. we had e really heated arguement but after which i felt proud of myself. i stood up to her(which is a no-no in our culture coz we are expected to respect the elderly), i proved her wrong by speaking up. and up until now i carry on that attitude that no matter who you are or what you are, i'll stand up for myselft from now on. because if i don't who would right?

You have a lot of courage. Did your standing up to your aunt damage your relationship? I appreciate your strength. Best wishes...

thank you.. yes well that's the down side of it.. we aren't talking now and well i haven't forgiven her yet. aside from what she did she said alot of nasty things about my mom in the past too so she's not a loss.. were not that close so it's no big deal with me.
