Is It Possible To "Think" Ourselves Sick?

I have heard that people would keep telling themselves they had something wrong with them until - one day - they have that problem. There is evidence that we can think ourselves sick or well. Not in all cases but some. It is calle programing our minds. This thought process is not new. It has been used for years for health benefits. Research suggests that visualization boost the immune system and assists in relaxation. It may even make us live longer. There are some people who believe that we can create our own reality - of sorts. They believe that what we see in our heads is what we get. To illustrate this point, I would like to share a personal experience. I used to teach high school kids. Some of them had a very bad reputation. They were considered trouble makers. However, I did not see them as trouble makers. I saw great things in each of them. They sensed that I saw potential in them and they began to react to that. They tried harder to become better people. So what do you think? Can we create reality? Can we make ourselves sick by thinking "sick"?

Yes, there are people who are pretending that they are sick or malingering. Their mind power is so strong that when they thought they are sick, it seems to happen. They feels and looks really sick. But in reality, they are not. It is just a state of mind.

Yes, if your thinking a bad thoughts constantly and it does not stop your stress hormones continue to rise you get weak. I knew of somebody who said he worried so much that the doctor said he had a mild stroke. The doctor told him you need to stop worrying so much or he said he would probably die. Basicly he told me the doctor said "change or die". So he stopped worrying. Oh, the funny thing is what he was worrying so much about was the middle-schoolers he taught were not doing there homework. This was actually my college algebra teacher that taught a class for extra pay. He said he drove somewhere and could not remember driving to where he came to. This is what he considers where his head or mild stroke probems occured. The teacher was great in math though and showed us all kinds of ways to do math problems that most teachers would not. I would not worry about this though because this is an extreme case. The teacher was also a vietnam vet which could have also caused the head problems.

yes. Perhaps it is what called as MOTIVATION words. At certain stage as at sport your spirit will help you to win or loose. Everything is in your mind, someone told, because your motivation make your spirit stronger and you don't want to give up .... keep trying, according to light maker, he made thousands mistakes before got his success ... that's motivation. Am I right ?!

Well I am a believer of positive thinking so I guess it is safe to say negative thinking can do the same thing, I know in past years I have used being not well to get out of of something and have ended up not well so I will say I think you can, all to do with positive and negative thinking.

since I am trained in psychology I have to say of course, there is no doubt about it. the mind is a powerful thing. I used to be able to make myself sick as a little girl, I would start the night before, preparing to be sick when I didn't want to go to school the next day and by the next morning I was sick.
