Not always... but sometimes... when I try to peel the shell of a boil egg... part of the egg comes with it. Do you know why? And do you have a remedy to this...

hello there to U...the best way to an easy peeling of an egg, is to place the eggs in a pot of cold water and add a teaspoon of salt...then, place the pot on the stove, let it boil for about 10 minutes, after boiling, remove the pot from heat, then let it cool for about 13 minutes...another way is not to over-boil the egg...a tablespoon of vinegar in the water may also help peeling it in easier way... Another thing is to buy an older egss, that are a week to 10 days old...during my high school days, in our research, we have found out that older egss are easier to peel than new eggs...just don't over-boil the egg, this affects the peeling, because the interior of the shell may stick to the egg, and you'll experience peeling the egg with the shell of it...i hope, this will help you out in some way...have a blessed day ahead of U...may GOD BLESS U & UR family always!!!

You do have plenty of good advice there. I always suspected that it might have something to do with the age of the eggs. I also have a tendancy to over boil them as I don't time them. Many people have mentioned adding salt to the water. I did not know about that... and I will try.

It's good to know that you're gonna try it...good for you...adding a teaspoon of salt to a pot of cold water with the egg, then heat it on a stove boiling for 10 minutes, will make the egg peel easier too...and yes, it has to do with the age of the egg, if you want the egg to be peeled easier, you have to use the older ones rather than the new ones, because older eggs have a different pH from new eggs, which affects peeling...over-boiling the egg too affects the peeling...i hope all those tips will help you...have a great day to U...may GOD BLESS U & UR family more and more blessings!!!

this will happen when the egg is either boiled too long or if the egg was exceptionally fresh - like home raised eggs tend to be. you can age the eggs a bit on the counter if they are eggs you raised - I would not do it with store bought eggs though as they have the bloom washed off of them and may be susceptible to bacteria growth. or try this tid bit which really does work - amazingly well. Add a smidgen of oil to your boil water as the eggs cook. The oil must make it through the pores on the shell somehow because it separates the albumen from the interior of the shell. always peel from the widest side of the egg - this is the side that has the air pocket in it and a good place for that first start in peeling. good luck!

Aha....here's one question I can definitely answer (being the keeper of 119 chickens---last time I looked (racoons).....Fresh,fresh eggs will not peel. They must be at least a week old, refrigerated, and that causes the membrane to break down.

As far as I know, when the eggs are just laid or they are not boiled enough, it is difficult to peel the shell. You can try the following methods: 1. Put some salt into the water before you boil the egg. 2. Put the boiled egge into cool water for a while. 3. Make the eggs roll in a container with tag for 4-5 times. Hope this can help you!

Add a little vinegar into the water with the eggs before bringing the water to boil.

I really don't know why. Sometimes this happens to me when I am in a rush. Here's what my mom taught me: After boiling an egg, you put the egg on a bowl with tap water. Tap water enough for the egg to sink in. Leave the egg there for about 3-5 minutes. Then you can peel the eggshells easily.

I always put the eggs in cold water before peeling them. But that has not helped...

Maybe the egg is "flawed" to start with? Or you knocked it too hard accidentally? When I need to peel hard-boiled egg, I will gently hit a hole in the shell then slowly peel while exerting the least strength possible. It usually comes out largely ok.:)

run it under hot water first...it helps. also the older the eggs the easier they are to peel. Fresh eggs the shells hold tighter to the egg. just little stuff i learned from working in the biz and it works. Also putting an onion in the freezer for about 1/2 hour before chopping helps with the crying.

In my observation, part of the egg come off when you try peeling a boiled egg that it is still hot. Wait until the egg has cooled down considerably. It also helps if you run water over the boiled egg.
