My 18 month old son is stubborn...I think! He says DaDa all day long. But when we try to get him to say Mama, he just points and says Dada. He also says Elmo, water, Doggie, and Bubba. What gives?

Give him some time!18 months is young for talking. Once he starts you won't be able to shut him up!What ever do don't say any bad works within his earshot. Kids at this age will mimic their parents. And once hes got the word he won't let it go. God Bless!

It will come. My daughter said dada first too and she doesn't have one of them. So imagine how I felt. But it came. Don't rush it. He might resist it then.

A child in this age is still too early to know whether he is stubborn or not. He is just a little boy. usually the first child can make it slowly. we should be vary patient.
