Facing new challenges

Last fall I took on a new challenge. I am 55 and I decided that I needed to learn a new skill. I completed that goal late last month. I returned to school to become a phlebotomist. This month I take the national exam to get nationally certified. I have always been flighty and I wasn't the best student in my younger years. I found that returning to school was one of the hardest things I have ever done. My daughters were my inspiration and they cheered me on. They both completed their bachelors and they were a tough act to follow. I thank God for those two. Challenges come in many disguises. It can be anything from changing your hairstyle to jumping out of a plane. What is the most recent challenge you have faced?

Wow... you are an excellent example of a live-long learner. I salute you. The most recent challenge facing me is the "arrow" for me to take a certification examination to help the company meet the requirements imposed by the principal. I have no wish to take the exam as there are many papers to read and I do not wish to spend additional time beyond office hours to achieve it.

Thankyou. To continue to hold a certification I must also take classes and exams. It is a part of life. I sometimes feel that life is a continuing exam. I enjoy the work that I do.
