I have just been paid by MY top PTC site, it was only $1 but when i went and looked in pay pal, when it has been converted back into UK puonds it was £0.51, and then paypal took £0.31 off me, so i only got £0.20, when i whouls have had just over £0.50. Personally i think that this is a bit dear, thats 60 odd % of my money!! Has anyone else experienced this? Chris

paypal is a business and has to make money, the conversion rate of money has nothing to do with paypal but the international community who decides what the exchange rate is. what paypal charges for providing you a service is not expensive western union is a heck of a lot more expensive than that

you're absolutely right Winter, Western Union is savage, they charge a lot for their service. Actually, it's a lot cheaper to send money via paypal and the service charge is not that much.

31p, it's too much to be extracted from your hard-earned penny. I think the reason why many are paying via paypal is because they can send money for free or of very little cost but the recipient gets the deduction. Maybe it's best then for you to wait till you get at least $5 before you request payment.

I don't think PayPal has ever charged me for converting $s to £s. You might need to check with PayPal that it's right. The only problem I have is when sites I used to go on made automatic 1 cent payouts and, of course 1 cent is worth less than 1 English penny so it works out as nothing.
