Do you mylot? Read? Watch tv? How long would you spend with any of these before trying to go back to bed?

well, I have been going online and searching or doing mylot - but honestly I do not think it helps to bring me to sleep - I think it awakens me even more. I really need to get back into reading - that usually will work, lol.

I usually get up and go to the bathroom, get a drink, and go back to bed and try to deal with it until I can fall back asleep. If I get up and start doing too much then I will never get back to sleep.

I do anything that I think can keep me occupied for awhile. Sometimes it's watching tv for hours on end, other times it's sitting online playing games, other times it's me just sitting around organizing or keeping my hands busy. I just do whatever I have to until I get tired. And when I get tired I go lay down.

I read or watch tv, any activity that will make my eyes go weary and tired... It takes me from an hour to four hours to go back to bed... I learned the habit of not forcing my self to sleep anymore because it will just make falling asleep harder...

When my wife can't sleep, she tends to try and go watch TV or get on the Internet. I feel this stimulates the mind and keeps you awake. When she can't sleep, I try to convince her to lay in bed and snuggle a bit. I must be a very boring hubby because snuggling usually makes her go to sleep. :) When I can't sleep, I find it very frustrating. I try to invent stories in my head to tell myself, listen to music (with an earbud attached to my cell phone), or practice visualization exercises like "I'm walking down a long staircase..." I have, in the past, attempted to repeat the same phrase or prayer -- even counting numbers. I find that trying to count up and down in sequence tends to fatigue my brain so I can go to sleep. If only I can stop struggling when my brain starts coming up with the "wrong" numbers, I'll go to sleep. "0,1,0,1,2,1,0,1,2,3,2,1,0..." Getting up, walking around, and ranting at the clock as it slowly ticks forward doesn't seem to help much at all.

I usually wake up and watch TV in the living room. I used to just go back online, but turning off the computer that late is to much. So I watch music videos on TV or just flip channels. I Sudoku for awhile until I can't think. In other times I just lie there, letting my thoughts drift.

I'm actually feeling like that right now. It is 12.44am and I can't get to sleep. I am mylotting and watching HGTV at the same time (design shows). I am not even sleepy either and I think its because I had a late start to the day today and also had a small nap late this afternoon LOL I don't feel tired at all. My husband is in South Africa and usually comes online right about this time so I might just wait up for him to chat :)
