Where is your computer in the house?

Ok, so most houses have computer rooms, or the computer's kept in a family room or someone's bedroom. I just responded to a conversation about how many tvs people own. But do you have more than one computer? Most of my friends that have siblings, have one computer that they're constantly fighting over to use. I have an older brother and he has his own computer, as do I. We both have them in our rooms. But because his isn't working, he uses mine when I'm not home. (Not a problem, I used to use his before I got my own.hehe) Anyway, do you have more than one computer in your house? Where do you keep it/them? And are people fighting over it or have you figured out some sort of schedule type deal. (I know parents who do that with their younger kids)

We have 10 computers in our house. I have my desktop computer at my desk in the office. I have my laptop next to my chair in the livingroom. My husband's computers are at his desk in the office. He has 3 in there. His laptop is in the livingroom next to the couch. My son's computer is in his room and my daughter's computer is in her room. My son's laptop is in the livingroom by the loveseat on a shelf and my daughter's laptop is in the office to be repaired. We solved the fighting long ago by giving them their own computers. We run our own technology consultant business so we have their machines locked down to keep them safe.

Holy moly! Wow, that's a lot of computers. If you don't mind me asking; why do you have so many? I mean I understand one for each of you, but having more than one for yourself? lol, it's unreal! I understand about the business, but is THAT why you have so many?

That is the reason we have the majority of them. My son's laptop came from my father as a Honor Roll reward. He already had his desktop computer, but he really wanted a laptop and when my father upgraded his own, he passed that one down to my son. Since 3 out of 4 of us had laptops at this point, my husband bought an old laptop off of one of our clients (after upgrading them to a newer laptop) so that our daughter would have one too. Prior to my surgery in November of 2007, I had back problems for two years that limited me from sitting at my desk in the office. I got a laptop so that I could continue to work from the comfort of my recliner. The rest of the extra machines in the office are business related and are servers and/or storage boxes.

My huaband and I both have our computers in the living room. His is a PC at a desk, and mine is a laptop. When I use my laptop I usually sit on the couch where it's comfortable, with our cat batting at my hands, the entire time I'm using it.

Before I moved to Univeristy and got a laptop, there was a family computer and my Dad's laptop in the house. both kept in the "computer room" in our house - more like my Dad's office. My sister and I used to bicker constantly over whose turn it was on it, especially in the evenings and over internet usage. Our parents never put restrictions on the compter use unless we had exams (not that we followed these restrictions)

I live in a studio apartment. So unfortunately there are no other rooms. I have the computer on a table in one corner of my room.

We have a few computers but only one of them laptops ever get used most of the time. We use it the most in the living room sitting on the couch. But, since it is a laptop we can take it anywhere. We don't have a schedule or anything. I use it the most and my husband will use it sometimes if I'm not.

Recently I got a new to me laptop computer. I already had a desktop computer, and was finding that my kids were asking to use it more and more. It seemed like the logical thing to do, to get another computer to help ease the stress on everyone. So we have 2 computers in our home. The laptop is mostly mine. I don't really let the boys use it, although when I first got it, I let them try it out. That makes the desktop mostly the boys', although there are certain things I can only do on it (like burn dvds), so I sometimes still use it. The desktop computer is in the dining room, where everyone can see what's going on on the screen. It's one of those strategies I heard about to help keep kids safe on the net. If anyone and everyone can see what they're up to, they're less likely to get into any illegal activities and such. The laptop is usually kept in the living room. I love how I can lay on the couch, watch tv, AND post on mylot! It's GREAT! Sometimes the laptop makes its way up to my bedroom, but that was more when I had a certain game addiction on facebook, and I no longer play that.

I used to have just a computer in my room. Then that computer broke and I did not bother to move it away. After that I bought a new computer in which I put it down on the floor in the living room. Well, then I bought a laptop. Kinda complicated.

We have 3. Two are in our "dining room" (which is not even big enough for a table, gotta love apartments!), the third is in my sons room.

We have three computers in our house the one i use is in the living room. Then we have one out in the hall which my youngest use that way i can keep a eye on them. There is also a computer in my boys bedroom which the eldest ones use. As we have a wireless network and the defult computer is the one in the living room i can cut them off any time if i think that they have been on it too long or if there is any arguments.

We have 3 computers, we have a desktop and 2 laptops, desktop is supposed to be mine and then my hubby and my eldest son have a laptop each, which has been working out really well. Well until my sons went kaput and cant be fixed, and so he is on mine whenever I turn my back! But now my hubbys cable is on its way out and although I keep telling him to get another, he wont until it doesnt work no more and then I will have to fight him off my computer as well!
