why is this movie always shown at christmas?

how many of you love this movie? and why is it always shown during the christmas season? it really has nothing to do with the season!

It is usually termed a holiday movie. Over Christmas all the shows are in reruns so the great movies are shown... what they call Holiday Classics. Also, I think because the song "Favourite Things" has been used as a Christmas song.

This is what I call a feel good movie and this is why I think this is shown along with "It's A wonderful Life". By the way, I think this is a lovelymovie just overplayed.

do they always show this at christmas time? i do not notice that... i know they are always showing that in here during lenten season, like some fillers for the disrupted regular programs because local channels here dont show regular programs if its holy week. so that is where i often see it, actually.

I think that this movie is shown during Christmas because it is the kind of movie that shows how strong a family can be in the middle of a crisis. I think during this season, more family oriented films are being shown.
