What's going right?

We hear so much of what is going wrong in people's lives, in governments, in jobs, in education, in the world that we don't pay attention to what is going right. If we focused more on what's going right I wonder if the "right stuff" would increase. What's going right, from your perspective? What's going right in your life, in your country, your world? I see more and more people focusing on solutions, not just on problems. Energy, environment, justice are more and more the thrust than dead-end complaining. I see neighbors in our city checking on the ill and elderly during a recent blizzard. I see people shoveling for neighbors that aren't able to do their own. I see more and more opportunities for me to make a positive difference, however small it may be. And I'm doing more small things since I'm less able to do the big ones. What are specific right things are you observing?

Well thank the good Lord that we were blessed enough to come into some money, and with that money were able to purchase a new car. Our old one was over 10 years old and had 250,000+ miles on her. She had given us many many good years, but was ready to give out at any minute. Thus for safety reasons and longevity, we really needed the new one. It's slightly bigger so it does give the kids a bit more room. And it has way more features than the old one, including several good safety features. Thanks be the Lord! ~Tink

In my own tiny world there is quite a bit going right at the moment. My children are all happy and thriving. My marriage is on an upswing and seems to get better and healthier every day. We are not flat broke because my husband let me take over the finances. He was horrible at doing it but was too proud to let me try. Though things have not been easy they really seem to be looking up and I am so glad. I was more than happy to see 2007 gone. We are trying to make 2008 a much better year. So far so good.

2008 is going to be better. I'm sure of it. And I intend to look harder to see the right things in it.

What's going right in my life, my town, my world? Well, first of all, my six month old got her first two teeth. She got the first one on the 1st of March and the second one on the 2nd of March. The best part is that she wasn't fussy at all and we didn't even know until my sister popped her finger in her mouth and got bit! Hooray for calm, happy, non-aggitated babies! Second of all, my husband (the breadwinner) is up for promotion, which includes a $3.25 raise. That extra money would be great for us! And lastly, my dieting efforts have paid off, and when I weighed myself this morning, I discovered that I have lost nine pounds! I only have sixteen pounds left! Yay for great things happening in people's lives. It's always nice to have good things happen.

There are always right things with a baby. Of course, it is also easy to get overwhelmed and not see them. I'm glad you hare experiencing all the goodness. Congratulations on the promotion. That will definitely make a difference. More diapers! :-) And Congrats on your successful weight loss. There are always good/right things when we look for them.
