of course we are held responsible. we are, after all the one who chose the way of life we took. you see, whatever religion we have.. we should only arrive at one thing - believe there is God and glorify his existence by our way of life. life of doing good, being the best we can be... its like the old saying that we should live our lives that others will see God in us. so whatever religion you have... it should reflect in your way of living. you can be a christian, a buddhist but live otherwise.. so its with the person not the religion.

In the novel "Inferno" by Larry Niven and Jerry Pornelle, which is based on the book of the same name by Dante, the hero, who is trying to get through all the circles of hell, is surprised to see that one of the circles is packed with Catholics. On questioning a demon, he is told that "Yes, they were wrong after all!"

A lot of people don't follow a religion and many don't even have one. My husband was not baptized but he believes in God. My sister in law was not baptized but she's athiest. I'm catholic/christian, but I don't follow any religion. I feel that just the belief is God alone is enough. As long as God knows we love him and believe, it should be enough.
