How do you eat your Oreo?

United States
March 14, 2008 12:34am CST
I'm not going to be on tomorrow, so instead of coming back to a bunch of stuff I have to think about, I'm just going to throw out a fun discussion. Some people will think its really shallow, but oh well, don't answer it if it doesn't suit you. How do you eat your Oreo? Do you eat it as one piece, do you screw it apart and eat the middle out of it first? And if you don't eat oreos, then maybe theres a candybar you can compare it with. Have fun answering or don't, its all in the way the cookie crumbles.

i notice that most of them like to dip it in something especially milk. not for me though since i don't like drinking milk itself. hehehe for me, instead of biting it whole together, i tend to bite a little of one side and then the other until i finish all like that. if i bite two together, the sweetness will be a bit too much so i eat rather slowly. hehe i guess it's confusing huh.

I have a funny story about eating Oreos. I was in the U.S. Army at Fort Bragg, NC. A few of us were in the "dayroom" watching television. One of the girls in the platoon had a bag of Oreos. I noticed she licking out the white cream like substance, but throwing the black cookie parts away. I asked her why.. She told me she likes the cream, but doesn't like the cookie part. Not wanting to see perfectly good oreo cookie parts go to waste, I told her that I'd eat them. So we sat there, watching TV and eating oreos. ;~D

I've never been a fan of Oreos and I cut junk food from my diet a couple years ago. The only cookies I eat now are my mom's homemade and only during holidays...date pinwheels, raisin-filled, oatmeal chocolate chip...they're too hard to resist :)

I like my Oreos dipped in milk. I eat them as one piece don't take them apart first that would make them hard to dunk. They claim Oreos are milks favorite cookie.

Hello, what a flood of childhood kitchen memories came back when I read your discussion! The absolutly best way is to pull them apart and eat the filling, then put the chocolate back together and dip them in milk. Vanilla ice cream dipping works too! It also needs to be the plain old fashioned oreos, not the double filling, or choc covered ones either! Wow, I think I'll probably gain a few pounds this weekend as I have a sudden craving!

You are not the only one that enjoyed the discussion and suddenly got an urge to run out to the store. I may have just done the Oreo company a big favor. LOL.

Hehe this is ideed a very fun discussion! I like to eat the filling first. Then depending on my mood i sometimes eat the actual cookie part. When i do eat it i like to dunk it in milk. The other way i sometimes eat is by dunking the whole thing in milk. Makes it taste soooo good!!! I really enjoyed this discussion.

this one just depends on my mood! LOL Sometimes i just eat them like a normal cookie... sometimes I have to dip them in milk til they are almost falling apart. Then there are those times I am in the mood for the filling and will screw them apart and lick out the frosting. usually then I need to dip the cookie part in the milkk tho! LOL fun... I can't wait to read all the fun ideas!

Did you read the one about putting them in a bologna sandwich, I don't know if you consider that fun or not, but its worth the read.

Dipping it in milk is good. You know the only thing I don't like about Oreos is that they don't have a resealable package and it always manages to tear across the package.

Me too. They really need to come out with better packaging, because soft or stale oreos are absolutely no good.

My son likes to break them apart and eat the middle first and then the ends, well sometimes he doesn't even end the end bits. I like mine crumbled up in vanilla icecream LOL

I know alot of people like oreo icecream, but I've personally never liked them quite as much as just the cookie itself.

I eat it many ways. But the most popular way that I eat mine is taking it apart and eating the middle. Then I take the end pieces and dip it in milk. Good discussion.

I never think to eat mine with milk, I guess just because I'm not much of a milk drinker.

Well, I eat orio in one piece. I believe I have seen this commercial about orio in tv, where a father was teaching his son how to eat an orio cookie. Its really nice. now my son wants to imitate the commercial.

I get a glass of milk, dunk the oreo in til it is a bit mushy and eat it. I then repeat the process, over and over again.

I love oreos but lately I haven't had any lately coz I'm trying to lose weight. When eating them, I like mine in whole, just enjoying every bite of it and savor the crunchy choco exterior and creamy filling. I eat it with a chilled choco drink. It really brings out the taste and you'll enjoy every bite..try it!

Well, I have never eaten Oreo in my life and I don't know what it is. But If you want me to compare it with candy bar then I can certainly do it. Well If I like the candy bar then I try to eat it slowly so that I can enjoy it fully. But If I don't like it I try to galap it by closing my nose. Just like a strong medicine. Thanks for reading my response. Goodbye

An oreo cookie is a chocolate cookie with a vanilla center. Many people twist them apart and eat the vanilla before they eat the chocolate wafer, but everyone has their own style. LOL.

My favourite way with Oreos is to turn them into a train. Take a cookie, place a small blob of ice cream on it and add another cookie. Continue until you have got enough to satisfy you, or use the whole packet. The ice cream has to be vanilla or dark chocolate. It's a little greedy to eat a whole packet at one go, so invite a friend to join in.
