Just because it is a parking lot doesn't mean you won't die!

I was trying to find a parking spot. It occurred to me as we drove around the lot that people in parking lots all of a sudden become stupid and unaware of the things around them. I am trying to get down a lane and this woman and her friend pushing a cart down the centre of the aisle. I drive up behind them thinking they would move aside but oh no that would be too easy! What is it with people that think they are invisible in a parking lot and that they don't have to be smart and stay safe.

It's not just parking lots. People just don't pay attention to what's around them, period. Having to say 'excuse me' several times because someone is blocking the whole aisle in the grocery store annoys the dickens out of me too.

Oh how true. It is like some people think they are the only people in the world.

I once left my purse in the cart in the parking lot and drove off. I didn't get too far before I remembered and went racing back for it... good thing there weren't a bunch of ditzoids sauntering in front of me because I was pretty anxious to get through the parking lot. I got back just as someone was walking off with it. Close call. That's my parking lot story. Well, actually I have a few parking lot stories since we lived in them for awhile.

Moments of panic when I do things like that. I have a short term memory problem and am forever forgetting things!

As ldyjarhead sayed alot of people do that and not only in parking lots it happeands all the time when people are looking for something or just chatting with a friend I think that because they fell safe like when woman with her haspened so she fell safe with him and don't care about anything else And in the parking lot there is no car run there so they feel safe even if they don't understand it excatly like that they just do that because their mind belive so

I have to admit I have been walking with a friend and not payed attention to where I am walking and as soon as I realize what I am doing I get out of the way and fast.

Unless they were elderly or had little kids, a few times I let the car sneak up behind them and blasted the horn. Of course, then I was paranoid and didn't park and get out of my car until they were well away, so not the smartest thing for me to do. But it is sooo annoying. Out here, the pedestrians seem to have the right of way in the crosswalks in front of all the stores and they stroll right out without looking. This extends to walking in the middle of the parking lanes, letting your car sit for extended periods of time in the middle of the lane waiting for someone to get into their car and back out of their space and all kinds of self-entitled behavior.

Oh how I hate those that sit blocking the lane waiting for a spot as the traffic comes to a snarling backed up mess. Then to top it off the clown in the car who is supposed to be backing up has to put on her seatbelt, check her make-up and reapply lipstick before backing out of the spot. I have also done things in parking lots then had to wait till the people left so there would be no further confrontation.
