Hi suehan, my son is going to be 30. He is now working in the other state and stay in an apartment alone. He never moved his childhood reading materials to his dwelling place years back. Occasionally he would take a look of his favorite books when he comes for holidays to revive his childhood memories. Some of his favorites are The Journey to The West which is a set of comic of four thick books, A Story A Day is a book with 365 tales for children, books of fairy tales, and many other adventurous children books. I keep all these books in a big mobile plastic chest so as to protect them from dust and damp. I would take the books out of the chest once in a while for aeration. To make sure they do not harbor any book worms as well.

I asked the kids which ones were their favorites and kept those. Then I kept a few of my favorites for grandkids. That was it. I hated to part with a lot of them, but I have the special ones at least.

I have kept most of my childrens' books and have them stored in boxes since we moved and will one day get around to having a look inside those boxes, but for now they are safe and one day if I am blessed with grand-children, I will have delight in passing the books on to them. I know there are a lot of golden books as I was always buying them when I made trips to the supermarket, but now that I think of it I don't remember seeing them there anymore! My daughters' first book that was given to her as a gift was "Where's Spot" which was her favourite, and another was the "Hungry Hippo" which brings back memories of reading it to her over and over again! There are some things in life that are nice to keep and I think these books are.

I keep all of my children's books. We have baskets of books and huge bookcases in our office so I have a whole children's section full of books. I have also scoured Ebay to find copies of some of my most beloved books from my own childhood. Most are our of print but I've been pretty successful in replacing them. I love children's books!

My son had so many books even so far as a set of encyclopaedias for pre primary level! I passed them onto my siblings children but I have kept a school exercise book of his from grade 1. It's his daily news book. I often page through it. This is his first school exercise book where a lot of his feelings etc were expressed. And the pictures! oh lord they are so precious!

We have a ton of books in our kids toy room, and the funny part is that they were all my husbands from when he was little! We have the whole Dr. Seuss collection, a bunch of fairy tale collections, etc...His mom kept them all and when we had kids she gave them to us. It's pretty neat to read kids stories the grandparents read to "daddy". I couldn't bear to get rid of one of them!

Of course I will keep my children's favorite books. When I was little, I also had my own favorite things and I didn't want anybody to throw it away. It may be trash to others, but it's my precious things. It's the same for my son. I have no reason to throw away my son's favorite books. I prefer to let him make his decision. If he wants to keep it, then it's fine. If not, then I will listen to it.

My son is now 16 years old and I have kept his favorite books for sentimental reasons. I have arranged them in one bookshelf so he may get to read them again if he wants too. Who knows my grandchildren will be able to read them too. LOL.

I think it was a golden book classic? But it was my favorite! I also had some that were part of a sesame street series & a mickey mouse series - those were great too. then as i got older more books - I am glad i kept my babysitter's club books - they are out of print now!

Well, I'm only 16, but I still have a majority of the books from when I was smaller. It's really fun to look back in them and see all the scribbles, or read the stories I loved as a little kid. One collection of stories, "The New Walker Bear" is my favorite. All the stories are still so nice and reading them brings me back to the good old days. There's even a Where's Waldo in the back! (I still can't find him).
