I really love spiral hams and have bought one again this year. With it I have mashed potatoes, sweet potatoe, salad, bisquits, corn on the cob and brussel sprouts....making me hungry just thinking about it! I'm not that big on Easter, but I do love to have this meal.

I'm not sure yet what we will cook. I have to go to the grocery today and buy some food to have in the house. We may have fried chicken or a roast. It all depends on what my husband wants to eat that day. Roast and potatoes and some homemade biscusits sounds good to me but so does the fried chicken.

I guess we could have both but I am so afraid some of it will go to waste since there are only three of us in the house to eat it. Money is so tight right now, we have to plan our daily meals carefully. I have never heard of the pudding you speak of. It sounds interesting though. I don't know much about fixing it but I could look it up online, I think.

What's to stop you from having both! They both sound good. Have you ever made yorkshire pudding with roast? It's British and it's really good. It's not pudding, but they call it that, it's more like popovers with a beef flavour.

I am doing something totally different this year, i am getting a lil tired of the ham thing, since having it for the previous two holidays. lol. i will do a leg of lamb with mint jelly and tazeki sauce on the side, a corned beef with cabbage, roasted potatoes with a creamy garlic sauce, some type of rice dish(not sure yet), some bread rolls, and to top that off with a key-lime cake. Oh and some easter themed cocktails. lol. Have a blessed easter. Namaste

That's an amazing recipe. Lined up a big menu there, enough for me to invite myself. Normally on big occasions at home we don't try any new recipe. Also we stick to traditional stuff. Its fine as we eat a lot less of traditional stuff nowadays. As you know the tastiest dishes have a lot of fat. This time we will have the typical Goan menu lined up. Sorpotel - Finely chopped pork meat & liver cooked in its own fat with some really good Indian spice & Goan vinegar. Its a hot & sour gravy. Goes fine with Rice Cakes. Beef Gravy - Thats cooked in green sauce & some crunchy veggies. Fish Curry - Thats cooked in coconut milk with milder spices. Fish salad - tinned tuna & onions, tomatoes, lemon & the other usual stuff. Pulao - Fragrant Basmati Rice cooked till just done with whole spices. Chicken broth & browned onion. Chicken - Cooked dry as an accompaniment with a slight picklish flavour. How about joining me? Happy Easter

That sounds different. I am like that too, don't like turkey twice a year, but I love ham so don't mind it twice a year plus with the leftovers I make hubby his favorite southern meal....ham, collard greens, grits, cornbread and black eyed peas. One Christmas I made Goose. I want to make venison some time but it's so expensive here.

Easter dinner - Our Easter dinner, ham asparagus, mashed, sweet potatoes
Except for the brussel sprouts, I will probably be cooking your meal exactly. I might have asparagus if it looks nice in the stores. We're not that big on Easter anymore, but it doesn't seem right not to have ham. I always get a spiral sliced one too. I just made waldorf salad last night so won't do it again on Sunday - otherwise that would be on the menu as well.
