I used to wear one all the time in the days when I was working but now only when we go out somewhere special. One thing I did find was that when I wore one all the time I had a smaller waist than I do now. That must have been the girdle. LOL

Hi sherinek. Girdles eh. Hmm. My mother wore a girdle, but I always found them 'strangulating'. And if the truth be known, I don't even wear underwear most of the time. I do wear a thong to work because I find working in a greenhouse is very sweaty business, and it helps to absorb the sweat. Actually, women should only wear cotton underwear. Synthetic fabrics don't absorb and can cause yeast infections. Your body needs to breathe. Not to worry; eat yogart everyday and you will never get a yeast infection. True story.

I happen to know a top designer in Milan Italy who makes some of his models wear girdles and waist cinchers, so why not? No one is perfect and it doesn't hurt to smooth things out a bit!

I used to wear girdles until I realized the harm it was doing to my body. It not only cuts off circulation to parts of your body, but it also causes your muscles to weaken. Since your stomach muscles start depending on that constant pressure from the girdles, the muscles get weak because they aren't being used. So I stopped using my girdles, when the doctor confirmed my muscle weaknesses were from the girdles.
