Those dratted tags

Okay I really like the tags so this is not a ranting or whining discussion. I seem to add WAY too many tags each time I start a discussion, respond to a discussion, or add comments to anothers discussion. We are limited 10 only and I always seem to go over the limit. Are you the same way? Or are you the type that just puts in a few that come to mind right away? Or maybe you're the type that doesn't use tags at all? Do you like having to add tagas to your PM's as well? I feel that is truely a waste of time as we don't look at those ads while reading or responding to a PM. We may look at them in the discussions though. HAPPY POSTINGS (TAGGING) FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

yes, I am the same way... and then you have to take one away and resubmit, and try again and again till you get down to ten. big waste of time! too bad mylot does not keep track of the number of tags you have typed out and let you know that you have reached the limit instead. I guess you could forgo using the commas and then it will all read as being one tag, haha.

I try my best to count them as I type but always lose track. But then it would be considered just one not the limit of 10. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Sometimes I tag quite a bit but lately I only use maybe one. Truthfully, the comma key on my computer was stuck for awhile so I couldn't use it, lol.

I never put any tags at all, I just pass right through it. I think they are used to help locate the different topics but I don't bother doing it. 10 tags on all the discussions takes up some time don't you think?

they are supposed to be good for searching articles, trouble is people put on tags that have nothing to do with the articles, so I hate them.

I have a hard time most times adding 4... I don't know why- I think it's because I want to get on to the next discussion already- so my brain has already left the one I was on.. therefore no tags come to my mind. I don't think I have ever added 10-- Wow.. I skip them on pm's--- I think they are a waste of time.

I use to tag all the discussions, but now usually skip on tagging discussions I reply to, unless I notice the discussion has no tags at all. I try to remember to add tags to discussions that I start, though I'm sure I forgot at least a couple of times before. As far as tagging the PM's, I don't do that, as I really don't see the point in doing so.

Sometimes I hate seeing my tags show up on others discussions to a point. the Pms are personal and I feel why do we need a tag word(s) on them as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hello dear Grandpa Bob. I am used to tag each discussion now, but sometimes I ignore it. I do not think that all of the tags we tag are shown there because sometimes when I check it, I do not see my tags at all, leaving me wondering whether there is need to leave a tag or not. It seems that tags are always for those who tag before you, not after you, when there are already a few tags there.

I noticed this was your 6666 post. You've been busy since you started this discussion because you are now at 6682. I don't usually pay attention to post nummbers but I noticed this one. I don't usually use tags unless I start a discussion. Then I only use a few. When responding to discussions I generally just skip through them.

Ummm? This activity of yours can be considered a type of stalking. Just kidding. yeah I've been a busy bee today. I think I started the day around 6570 or so possibly. I didn't even notice my count. But I did see when this was 6666. I hated seeing those 6's all in a row. I think I started about 6 discussions and have been busy responding to a bunch for a change. It's been awhile since I have been this active here. Kind of missed being this busy doing mylotting. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I do add tags but I really don't know what their purpose is or how it helps us? I feel like there is something with it that I missed. Like WHY? Is it for the search? clue me up grampa bob.

I think the tags on PM's are useless. When I am the one starting the discussion I try to think of as many tags as I can. If I am just commenting on another users discussion I will only add one or two tags. Every once in awhile I will skip adding tags altogether. Like if I can't think of one or I am getting ready to leave or my internet is acting up. I didn't even know what the tag limit was!

Good deal adding the max on your discussions. I usually add a comment or more to discussions I respond to so I add at least 5 the time that I respond so that I do not get asked again usually for tags when I add a comment later. Now ya know the limit is 10. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

No I really don't like adding the tags to either the topic or mainly to the pm's thats kind of silly if you ask me they only get deleted by one or the other person if not yourself... I don't think they are even kept or are they? LOL I will admit sometimes I hit the skip on them...

From my experience if you add at least 5 tags, then, each time you comment back on that same discussion you aren't asked for tags again. So that's one of the main reasons I add tags all the time. At least 5 and most times too many. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

tags - Tags R us
I usually place up to 10 tags, so I am not ask later...but with few discussions I am asking over and over again. If someone respond to old discussion, system is asking you for tags again... I am wandering if tags are inactive after while...

It's a habit for me already, I'm already used to adding tags whenever I post (start a discussion or respond). I think if a member has more than just one, then the better. As long as they are all willing and don't consider it as time-consuming (for people are always in hurry!LoL), it would really help the discussion. Also, tags should be posted in relation to the topic at hand, and not just because some only wants to add so. For my case, I always put tags as much as I could, as well on PM's. The most I could add is 5, that are similar or related to the discussion itself.

Same here as far as my tagging practices go. I try my best to add tags that describe and or fit the main topic of the discussion. Plus I'll add tags that fit the response to which I am commentting on as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I used to tag all the time, now I just skip the tags being the discussion usually has several tags already. I just have to remember to tag whenever I start a discussion is all.
