I came across an article in positive thinking magazine and it says, "If you're dying to lose weight try dyeing your food..Blue is the hue if you want to cut down on consumption, says Kenneth R. and Cherie Fehrman, color constltants and authors of Color: The Secret Influence..." "In nature, bright blue substances tend to be poisonous so we instinctively avoid blue foods. They also suggest serving meals on a blue plate and using a blue light in your fridge to curb your appetite...?" Blueberries are more of a dark purple..so I guess these are okay... What are your thoughts on this?

Now that's a first! I have never heard of this either and not sure whether I would try it too LOL seems a bit far fetched to me. Do you know of anyone that has tried this? I wonder if it really does work :)

It sounded bizarre to me as well. I don't know of anyone that has tried it and I am not going to be the first...*smiles*...I just read it in a magazine...I think kids would think it is cool to dye their food...

Dear Feona, Then you can wear blue dresses also everytime isn't it? If the colour blue afftects you and makes you thin.. then it should affect you in all possible ways. eating is out. How can we eat blue coloured foods, even the fruits are not coloured blue except as you said blue berries. maybe as they are in purple colour it doesn't bother too. So only blue clothes are left out, which we can wear regularly and see. All the best

I certainly can't imagine it working..I think kids would get a kick out of coloring the food...Doesn't sound logical to me...

Well now that is something I have never heard, that color can potentially stunt our appetite! I wonder how well that theory would work for me given that blue is one of my favorite colors! I love blueberries, surely they didn't mean that one should cut down on those...they are very good for us! Of course, I'm not sure that I would like blue rice or blue mashed potatos...so perhaps I should put a few drops of blue food coloring in them the next time I make them so that I won't eat so much of them! Ha!

Very interesting that's for sure... However I will never give up blueberries.. The tame ones are blue and the wild berries are a purple.. I love going out and picking them and not to mention making pies and deserts with them.. Than again what's blue that you really eat besides berries? Mostly everything else like blue frosting is only fruit coloring...

I read years ago that the color of your plate determines the amount of food you eat, but for some reason I thought the color was orange..Or maybe orange was the color to avoid..Well, next time I get new dishes, blue for me..

Ya no I think it should be if you want to loose weight then eat all blue colored foods. You would surely lose weight since there aren't any that I know of except some Blueberries.lol

I wonder if it really works? I've heard red and yellow induce hunger so maybe colors really do affect the way we eat. I'm not sure but I sure will try it!! That's an interesting article you read. I can't think of too many blue foods so maybe the nature thing is very true. I just can't see myself eating dyed food though, I'm very picky. I will definatley try it though!!
