Haridwar is a holy place in the state of Uttrakhand in India. In March beginning we went to Haridwar. We hired a tourist taxi and started in the early morning. First we visited Maata Katyaani Devi Mandir at Chattarpur in Delhi to have darshan of jagatjanani Maa. In the way,we stopped at Cheetal restaurant to have tea nad snacks. We reached Haridwar at noon time. There we stayed at a Dharamshala.
We stayed in Haridwar for four days. On third day, we visited Rishikesh, another holy place. It is here in Rishikesh, mother Ganga starts her joutney on plains. Haridar is her first stop.
We took the holy dip at Har Ki Pauri and attended evening Aarti. It was an heavenly experience. The water was ice cold but rejuvenated our entire physical being. The Aarti rejuvenated our spiritual being. Next day we had darshan of Maata Mansa Devi and maata Chandi Devi. We went to the temples situated on high mountains via rope way. They call it Uran Khatola. It was a different experience, as during the way you see the magnificent view of Mother nature.
Haridwar, at this time, was not very crowded with tourists. However there were large number of Kanwarias who had come to Har Ki Pauri to take Ganga Jal for offering to Lord Shiva in temples located in their respective local places. On fourth day we reurned to Delhi.
Those myLot members who have not yet visited Haridwar and Rishikesh should visit these holy places to witness the grace of Hari.

I think that I am going to use your posts as a process to help me focus... I enjoy visualizing the scenes you have created, and it helps me feel more connected to some of the lands I most love.
I have a 'discussion' that I posted months ago regarding Calcutta and I never got an answer to my question. It's a long post but I sure would like somebody to answer my question, and I suspect that you could.
