What's the strangest thing you've returned to a store?

I work at Walmart as a cashier and it always fascinates me what people will return to the store. (In the UK there are pretty strict policies on what you can and can't return) Yesterday while I was doing the door greeters break someone brought in too small bags of Easter candy to return because "her child got too much" total value $3.55. I was so amused someone would return candy like that (probably cost her more in gas to get to the store! So make me smile this Monday whats the strangest thing you have returned?

At least the plus with Walmart gift cards is that they never expire so at least someone could use it! Barbie stuff is a nightmare I rememeber many years ago staying with a friend for Christmas and at 1am she decided to wrap the Barbie Camper van she'd bought for her little girl ....... it was only then that we discovered we had to assemble it !!!!!!!!! Argh think we finished at about 4am and worse the little girl was sick Xmas day so wasn't in the least bit interested in our efforts !

I can't think of ever taking anything strange back. Only the usual things that were too small (why do I seem smaller in a shop and bigger once I get home again?). The example you give would not happen here in Italy as you have 30 days to take things back and then only if it is the wrong size or broken. You certainly couldn't expect to get a refund just because they got too much or you changed your mind.

There seems to be absolutely no reason here why you can't return something and there are people who have come up with them all. Some seem to return stuff at the end of the month just as a means to buy food to put on the table. The most amazing sight was a totally worn out pair of shoes which I didn't dare ask what was the reason they were returned.
