How Do You MyLot?

When posting on MyLot, do you usually stick to a small handful of interests and post lots of relevant discussions within those interests, or do you go all over the site and post on a wide range of interests? When I first joined MyLot, I did the latter. I'd browse lots of interests and only reply to one or two discussions for each interest. But now that I've been on this site for awhile, I stick to only one or two different interests each day. And I respond to lots of discussions within those interests. What about you? What do you do?

Hello Tricki! I usully do more reading than posting! Sometimes I stick to stuff within my interests so that my posts sound a bit more intelligent, bur sometimes I read something where I find I HAVE to respond to. It's interesting too read a lot of the discussions and then read the responses. I've learned quite a bit from my short time here on MyLot and I've enjoyed every minute of it!

Oh I go all over the place me, I look for those that I have an interest in and then the top discussions, new discussions and then I will spend some time trying to go through my friends discussions and then answering any responces on my own discussions. If I was doing this in actual walking I would have lost loads of weight.!

I first check to see if there are any new replies to my discussions I then check the top discussion for the day and pick one to reply to. I then pick a discussion from the relevant discussions at the bottom of the page and continue this way until I have run out of discussion I feel that I can create a decent reply to. Once I have finished this I return to the top discussions and chose another topic to reply to. I continue this way until I have run out of top discussions and discussions that are relevant to the top discussions I have replied to. If I feel like continuing to post I then go to "discussions from my interests." I sort throught thes discussion in the same manner as the topc discussions. If after i have sorted through all my discussions from my interests I still feel like psoting I then go to "discussions with no responses" and try to post some replies to those. Occasioanlly i feel like sticking to one or two interests but usually I go all around and post where I feel I can provide a quaility response.

It depends on how busy everyone is and how many good discussions to respond to at any particular time. If there's a lot going on, I can stay plenty busy in just one or two categories, but if things are slow I'll start reading just about everything.

I ususally go through the discussions panel. I start with the "today's top discussion". Go through about 3 pages of that, then move on to "discussions from my interest". Another 3 pages and work my way down to "new user discussions".

The way I respond to discussions just depends on the way I feel that day. Sometimes I have a burning question in my mind that I want to ask, then I will stick to that interest group when I'm answering questions that day. Sometimes I'm just browsing around the site and I will try to answer as many questions as I possibly can that have been submitted by my friends on the site. Sometimes I'll just look at discussions started from all of my interests. I try to mix it up as much as possible because I got a little burned out on MyLot because I was using it so much when I first joined. It became more of a chore than a fun thing for me so I took a break, now I come back a lot more.

I am mostly posting on the same topics, coz I find only them interesting.. I have another problem!! I do not know what to post!! Almost everything is out there. That is one big drawback for me.. Thats why I am not posting much

the first category I would always check was "discussions my friends started". that's the recent days. back then when I was still a new member here, I sticked to "discussions from my interests" or just "recent discussions" or "today's top discussions". that's how I have gotten my current friends. however, when my friend list increases, there have been many posts by my friends that I could respond to, so that's what I always do by the first time I log in to myLot. and I also edit my friends' preference to have the notify on when they start any new discussion. so then, when my friends start their discussions, myLot would send an email for each discussion's alert to me, with their full discussion text. so from the email notification, I can make my prior read towards their words, and directly sort which one I would visit without the need to browse for the links anymore from myLot page. that's what I do, and I think I have better time management by doing that. it saves a lot of time and efforts, and I can still give good response without spending too much time.
