France 1 England 0

Goldenballs has got his 100th england cap but could do little to help England against France last night. David James is being blamed for giving away a penalty, a little harsh I feel. So even against a under strength France team we just did not perform yet again.

It is harsh to blame David James, the rest of the team need to take a good look at themselves as to why they didn't score against weak French team. Even Scotland managed to score against the French in France. It looks like you need to get some investment into young players because England does not look like it is going to get any better with the current players, who are capable but just not particularly interested.

The England under 21 team do quite well so our future is not all to bad. There are also few kids who are coming through the ranks such as (cant remember the names) 2 lads from west ham, one striker and 1 defender who look ok. With the current national team there is no pride/compassion to represent England no more. NOT ONE of them sing our national anthem, yet me at home goes ape 5hit at my kids for interupting it ( very patriotic me ). Its time for a manager to grab the team by the balls and kick out the primadonna's who only get in the squad for being a celeb and get the people who are playing well at the moment.

Do you think Capello is the man for the job though. I know it's early days but that is a bad result. I just hope the young players get a chance as the current squad isn't interested. We're getting some good young players coming through now in Scotland. Steven Fletcher, Scott Brown, Stephen Whittaker, Kevin Thomson to name a few and all raised by my team Hibernian. Lack of money has helped the Scottish national team but too much money has hindered the English team.

Thought it was a very lacklustre performance myself, Beckham didn't look too bad although he was most noticable for his tracking back than for his attacking. He was though far better than Bentley when he cam eon. Ashley Cole was poor, I knwo he isn't a winger but you would think he would be able to cross the ball better than he did. James was okay, but because of Anelka's pace he just ended up looking stupid when he gave away the penalty - trouble was France were poor as well so one chance and James is the easy target because of the penalty

I'm happy as can be. France also got a world record in the Euro Sports bike thing, in Manchester. Woohoo! :D
