Does anyone on here have a tattoo on their foot or ankle? I really want to get a tattoo on my foot or ankle but I really don't know if I can handle it because everyone keeps telling me it's going to hurt terribly because it's on a bone. So, has anyone on here got one, if so, tell me how it was!!

Hello Angel. I do not have a tattoo on my body. It needs encouragement to get one. After reading some of the responses, I got to know that you have one rose tattoo on the shoulder. I am sure that it hurts when one gets a tattoo. But if you plan to have one on foot or ankle, I think that you need to think about it carefully, as it is painful to have tattoo on the ankle because of the bones there on the part with less flesh. Anyway, please take care. By the way, thank you for adding me as your friend. I appreciate it.

Tattoos are for some people and not for others. I personally wouldn't want more than two or three and never anything that doesn't symbolize something and some people would get anything just for the love of tattoos. The reason I am nervous is exactly for the reason that you stated, the foot has less flesh and it will hurt more! Thanks for the response!

I have a poisonous tree frog on the top of my foot. Its stretched out as if it were on a limb, so one foot is on my big toe. It hurt pretty good. That's why it looks like its on a tree branch, and not actually on one. My suggestion is to wait until you are really ticked off at something or someone. Letting your anger out through the pain of a tattoo is just as good as a good hour at a punching bag, and you have a beautiful piece of art to show for it.

Thanks for the advice but something tells me I couldn't get a tattoo when I was angry. I get myself so nervous beforehand that I would have lost my anger by the time I got there. :-) The tattoo you have sounds pretty unique.

I've always wanted a tat just above my left outer ankle. It would be a rose with my kids names in the leaves. I've heard it hurts also. I also heard that they have some kind of cream or spay or something they use to numb it a little, not sure though.

LOL, I don't know, they didn't use anything to numb my skin before they gave me my tattoo on my shoulder but you could find out by calling the tattoo parlor before you went very easily. Some tattoo parlors offer things that others don't so what you heard of may be a specialized service and certain ones may have it while others may not. The tattoo you are describing sounds beautiful though. If I get mine, I'll send you an email and tell you how it went. :-)

Getting a tattoo on my ankle was the most painful tattoo that I've ever gotten, even worse than the one that was right on my hip bone. My tattoo artist was just learning to tattoo so that might have had something to do with it. I hardly got it finished in the first session, then I had to go back for a second. I lost a lot of the color from the second time and should really go back and get it filled in again, but I'm too afraid it's going to be really painful again, plus then you have to have your shoes rubbing up against it. It depends on your pain tolerance though, I'm a pretty big wuss.

Geez, now you have me terrified!! When I got my other tattoo, I went to an experienced tattoo artist, he was actually the owner of the shop that I went to so that made me feel much more secure. I don't think I could feel comfortable getting a tattoo done by somebody that was just learning! Was this a friend of yours or just ended up being the shop that you got it done at by coincidence?

Angel, Ive got a tattoo on my ankle....mmmm lets see when i was 35 its of a heart and Ivy....it really didnt hurt all that much. But it was sore for a while ...just a bit. What u need to remember its perminant and it will cost alot ! to remove. What it really depends on is ur pain threshold level. if u really cant stand to be pinched poked etc....re-think getting one.....I compare it to a bunch of ant bites.....best I can tell u ...good luck on your choice....and send me a pick if u get one k ?

I've got a tatto before, I have one of a rose on my shoulder so I know I can withstand the pain of a tattoo, everyone just makes the tattoo on the ankle sound so horrible and they have me freaked out beyond belief!! I wouldn't worry about having it removed because if I'm paying the money and going through the pain of having it put on, I am going to have it tastefully done and not put anything on that I will regret later. Thanks for the advice!
