No I have not got a clue, and I ask myself everyday what it is. I am hoping that one day I will find out what it is or that I will just realise what it was all along!

If you don't know where you're going how could you ever hope to get there?!? Not only is it important to know, it is imperative to know. Not only that, it is a good idea to check your 'dials and gauges' periodically throughout the day to make sure you're still on course too because it's too easy to set out for Singapore and end up at the North Pole. You gotta pay attention to your direction, unless of course you're just meandering and enjoying whatever scenery is around you. Anyway, my goal in life is very simple... joy is what I seek. therefore I use my feelings to guide me, they are my 'joy gauge'. So, EVERYTHING I do I check what it does to my joy gauge... if it makes me feel good I do more of that, if it makes me feel bad then I do less of that. That is important in business too. So many times I have heard people say "If I just would have followed my gut feeling I could have avoided this mess", or something like that. I have done it myself. Good feels good and bad feels bad, so if something feels bad going into it then you can rest assured it's only going to get worse! Hahahaha. And the same is true in reverse... good can get spectacular! And I want to feel spectacular every day, not just at the whim of the weather or my current circumstances, I want to choose how I want to feel, and then think the thoughts that make me feel more that way. I know, it probably wasn't you're intention to sign up for the lecture called 'Intending Joy in a fear-based society', but I do have a tendency to ramble...

zz--It seems that metaphysical thinking is your scapegoat for rationalizing whatever happens (or doesn't happen) in your life, and you seem to expect your thoughts to provide for your needs. In the real world, most people think of security as multifaceted--expecting it to encompass physical as well as emotional and mental factors. All the brainwaves in the world are not going to provide necessary creature comforts like food for sustenance, a roof over your head or the other really basic needs of your human body--it doesn't matter how positive you think, you still have to be part of and contribute to the physical world to truly live.

I'm actually not interested in philosophizing clem. I'm interested in living my life passionately, freely, joyously, healthily, and on my own terms. I have discovered that when I imagine something in my mind very vividly and passionately, it comes to me. One night I watched a ballet video where the women were holding these huge white ostrich feather fans. I wanted one! Oh how I wanted a fan like that! I went to bed fantasizing about my new fan. When I got up the next morning and went out for my walk it was literally raining white feathers. I thought it was snowing at first, and it was in the middle of summer. Well, I was gathering feathers up for hours. I carefully washed them and dried them. Then I just happened to find a nice old wooden back brush handle that my mother who never throws any thing away had tossed in her laundry room many many years ago and there it still laid. I painted it black acrylic and studded it with rhinestones. I glued all the fluffy white feathers on a big oval piece of good stiff cardboard and voila! I had my fan. Granted it was made out of turkey feathers rather than ostrich feathers but I've got no complaints. Anyway, too many experiences like this have happened in my life to be explained by 'coincidence'. I'm exploring just what this phenomena is and how I can deliberately use it to create what I want in life. It began as an experiment just to satisfy my curiosity, and it continues as an ongoing wondrous adventure. I'm not kidding you. By the way, commonsense and experience can actually be very misleading, but your feelings never lie. And of course a life of "comfort, freedom, and well-being" would light up my joy stick! But you don't often talk about all that, you're most always going on about everything that's going wrong. And I'm practicing looking for and thinking about and talking about things that are going right. I don't wanna talk about sickness and disease or all the things there are to be angry about. I want to think about and talk about the things that make me feel good, and I think that makes very good sense.

The best use of our heritage is to use the mind to decide where we want to go individually... what we want to be or do or have, and to use the emotions as a gauge to tell us whether the choice we're making, the thoughts we're thinking, or the activity we are involved in, is taking us in that direction or not. If it feels good that means it is, if it feels bad that means it's not. Very simple. Sometimes the brain requires a good scrambling, and perhaps now is the perfect time for you to reassess your whole life. Your conclusions and preferences are a personal thing custom built by you. Your life and everything in it is your creation.

Its sad to say, but I still don't know what my purpose in life is. But I just have a feeling that it is something dealing with kids, maybe mentoring them, I don't know.

I hope you will be able to know. But that is not a bad purpose. If you feel led to do it then, that may be what is meant to happen. Or just seek GOD.

Our purpose in life is to achieve all our dreams, have fear to God and serve Him. We must also take good care of ourself and enjoy the beauty of the environment. Our purpose is to show what we can share to the society, share our talents and gift from God and live life to the fullest. We have different purpose but to think that all of us will get into the final end, we must understand that those material things, cannot be brought when we die..so as much as possible, reach your goals as soon as you can and always be with God in everything that we do. Keep posting, Mickey

I still really have no idea but its intense whatever it is, I have so much emotional issues to deal with, and I do wonder if my main purpose in life is to learn to let go because out of everything that I deal with, that is my BIGGEST challenge.

Hello bro, I think you have started a good discussion here, and apologies for coming across it pretty late which you started about a week ago... I think that my purpose or call in this life would be just to be living a life that's within my conscience and definitely having a full integrity and honestly to myself and life basically. I think life is very fragile and the elements of yourself plays an important role to the surroundings that we have. No doubt we have friends and family to play this role with, but personally to me, the basic core being of myself having these qualities is truly important and I will never succumb to things that will make myself lose my integrity and my respect. Other than that, I think that in life, we have to really respect the elders even though they might have negative impacts on our lives or just simply not "being there" for us in times of need. Hopefully, they will get in touch with their senses before it's too late. Forgive and forget is also a very good nature that I love to instill in myself and I think that the purpose in life in all its elements is to accept each other's flaws and to grow from the mistakes that we have made. Have a good day bro ;)
