I believe in a theory that doesn't involve a magical deity creating us with his magical powers. I believe in a rational, logical theory; the Theory of Evolution. However, it seems you don't really understand it since you said, "Do you believe that they evolved from a monkey?" No. I don't. No one who actually understands the Theory of Evolution does think that. If I were to tell you what I believe, I'd just be reiterating exactly what this site has to say; http://evolution.berkeley.edu/evosite/evo101/index.shtml PLEASE look at it. I beg you to. It's sad to see that many people refute this explanation although it has heaps of evidence supporting it and is way more plausible than just 'popping out of nowhere.'

Ok, so where (or from what) did the single cell organism come from? That's where the debate falls apart. You can be on one side, the other, or in between. If you are strictly on one side you are purely following your religion. But if you can see the truth and evidence from both sides, then you have come to a scientific theory through the eyes of your religion. Get me?

You don't seem to understand that Evolution does not deal with Earth's origins though. The closest thing science has to that, at the moment, is the Big Bang theory and I'm fine with that. I don't want to resort to believing in something without proof because there's no other explanation.

yes I do beleive that my ancestors evolved from apes. I don't have a problem with that. I don't consider it offensive at all. beyond that, I beleive apes evolved from (via a vast number of changes) single celled organisms. that is no more offensive than coming from apes. it's just how it is. I do beleive in a God though, and a Goddess. beleiving in evolution is not incompatible with religion.

Ya, i believe that my ancestors evolved from apes. But not the apes we see now, Both humans and the present apes evolved from a common ancestor. Life orginated from a single cell. This single cell evolved into all the animals that we see now. I believe that god created this cell. God loves all animals and not just humans. We can belive both in god and believe that we came from the apes.Humans are not special infront of god. We just have superior brains.
