Well, in this day and age, they do..sad but true. Bee hives that are purposely rented to produce orchards and such for pollination (right now in CA it is almond trees that need the bees) and the company sends the hives to a grower, and thievse steal the hives from the orchards! They will most likely suddenly pop up as "I have this bee company and a grower backed out of a deal and now I have these hives available, can we make a deal?" the grower will need them so bad he will and the guy takes the money and is never seen again. The main company is even putting micro chips in the structure of the hive to track its location. http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?cl=7160770 Good grief, what's this world coming to! Now our crops are in danger cause if they don't get the bees for pollination, they don't pollinate and no crops are produced.....

Of course it doesn't surprise me but really isn't it too much? I guess when there is money involved men will always be there to forget everything else from ethics to values and be there for the greed.

But how much can they get for them? I mean it isn't like they can resell them or take them back! And the market is so limited, the options for resale are limited...good grief, all that work for how much?

YOu're right, of course. But then again, what percentage of greedy people take the time to actually think? LOL
