'Teenage chocolate killers' detained!

April 5, 2008 6:39am CST
Two youths aged 16 and 17 years old have been sentanced to four years each for killing a graduate in an argument over a half-eaten chocolate bar!! Evren, was 23 and died after being punched in the face when he challenged the pair for throwing the remains of a Lion bar in his car. Evren and his sister were waiting at some traffic lights in her Peugeot 307 in London, when the older of the youths threw the half-eaten Lion bar through the open car window. Evren got out of the car and threw it back at them which caused one of the boys to produce a 4inch knife from his trousers. His sister was screaming as the knife was held to his throat, he was then punched so hard in the face that his skull was fractured and he suffered a brain haemorrhage that moved his brain 0.6inchesacross his head! He died of severe head injuries eight days later. Dejon and Patrick admitted manslaughter and carrying a knife at a hearing last month. The judge ruled that the psair should be identified despite their age and condemned their "yobbish and stupid behaviour".. "The tradegy need not have happened, if you hadn't started it or had the courage to walk away". All this over a Lion bar, just goes to show how easily some people are easily upset!!

I have to say I applauded the judges decision to identify this pair - it should be normal that even though they are minors they are identified - after all they have comitted offences that are anything like childish! It is a sad reflection on society today that this story is not as shocking as it should be , I am very scared that we are becoming desensitised! xxx

With all the violence on TV and video games that are providing 'entertainment' to our children today, it's no wonder they are desensitized. One life gone and two others ruined. How sad ...

I never thought a half-eaten chocolate can cause someone to be killed. But then, I guess, most crimes are done because of the stupidest reasons. It's a good thing that the perpetrators are now in jail.
