Harry Potter Movies, Overrated?

Being a big fan of the Harry Potter books, I think the movies dont do them any justice. Im dissapointed with the fact that if you dont read the books and just watch the movie, you can never really get the whole concept. They leave out characthers, change the storyline abit, cut out important scenes. Sure, its pretty hard to make a movie out of an awesome series like this but I'd prefer if they stick to the story more instead of changing things around for special effects or, in their opinion, a better storyline. But in the end, me and my friends still watch the movies just to critisize it. Haha. What do you guys think?

I was a bit disappointed with the movies...especially when they changed the dress from robes to "muggle clothes" for all the scenes in the later movies.
I understand why they had to cut bits to make it so it wasnt a freakishly long movie but at the same time was disappointed with a few things they left in but others the took out.
I muchly prefer the books

Yeah I read all the books and thought they were pretty good. I also like the movies even with the changed storyline. I like watching them to see what the differences are and it is cool to see the major parts in the book represented on the screen. Plus, I know people who either did not read the books, or read the first one and thought they were awful, and they still enjoy the movies. I guess they like the visual representation better. Anyway, I am looking forward to the release of the rest of the movies.

I have read the harry potter books over and over again. They have changed so much with the storyboard as you said. They have made there movies different to the certain reason that the Harry Potter book has pretty much every page as an important scene. Be as bad as it may have been they have changed the storyboard for the certain reason that a 1/2 hour movie would not fit a 400 page book. The first HP Books are however a different story and as you can see not much of the storyline was cut out comparing the the later books/ movies. I believe that you are for sure correct that they have made a bad property of the HP movies and it could have been better.
