Getting called MA'AM makes me feel OLD

Suddenly I've noticed that somewhere along the line the teenagers in stores call me ma'am. It makes me feel soooo freaking old. The Cashiers or others that are older than me still call me miss or ms...

I dont understand WHY someone would respond like that. I was under the impression that posting a discussion ment that someone wanted to DISCUSS things not just post and leave.

I think it depends on the place and time. If I'm in a resturant I will ask for what i cant eat to be packaged up. I may eat it later or i give it to my pets as a treat. Leftovers at home - if there is enough for a meal at work i take it as a meal for work. stuff that cant be stored i compost or feed to the critters. I try not to just throw it away into the trash.

I tend to be pretty careful about new places due to the shellfish allergy. Its nice lately if i go somewhere with my new boyfriend - he has the same allergy so he knows places that are safe for him too which are different from the places i usually go!

I have a question, or rather, I would like your opinion: I haven't heard from my BF in like a week and a half which I was writing off as, he's in mechanic school for the army and cannot write me or call me right now BUT, i got a TXT from his cell phone from someone claiming to be his SERGEANT, saying that he was in AFGHANISTAN and that shattered his ankle, and tore some ligaments and tendons in his leg and is in the hospital and that they're going to fix him up and send him back to AFGHANISTAN. He never even told me he was going there. I was under the impression that he was still in training here in the US for the army... That's a bit shady don't you think? Now, the person who wrote had great spelling and perfect gramer so I know it wasn't my BF....
