Are there any girls who are really emotional around that time of the month? Like for instance you might cry over the littlest thing or sometimes even for no reason? I sometimes get like this around my menstrual cycle and cannot stop crying. A lot of the times it is over really little things or for no reason. I don't do it a lot, only occasionally and only on my period. How do you usually deal with this?

Yup I get really emotional I also get frustrated really easily. I found being on the contraceptive pill helped a lot but I had to come off it due to my blood pressure vitamin B6 is supposed to help with periods also x

Thank you... I will have to try vitamin B6. I am on BC although it helps there are still times when I am still emotional.

I get very emotional as well, and will cry about the slightest thing. I have cried over a commercial, a t.v. show, someone laughing, someone coughing, just hearing the sound of my fiance's voice has brought me to tears (and trust me, it's not because he's a screecher either)

I easily gets angry over simple things and sometimes cry but most of the time when my flow is about to start, I am always screaming. Sometimes I just stop and begin to realize that I am going beyond how I must react on things. My child might have done it unintentionally so she doesn;t deserve to be scold around so I just tell them that I am sorry and they must bear with me because I am having my mood swings again.

Me, I used to be terrible, and also very predictable, about a week before I would be very emotional or snappy, some months were worse than others. I no longer have the monthly as I had a hysterectomy, but I still have my ovaries which means although I do not have the period, I still get the emotionals that go with it!! I find that if I feel emotional or highly strung then doing some exercise helps, I will stick the music channel on and dance it away , it is a proper tonic for me!!

I do get a little emotional, crying over little things. But, my worst thing around my period is my temper. Sheesh! Drop a pen, get ticked off. LOL! And, I have never found any way to actually fix the problem. I just try to remind myself that I am just hormonal and to get over it. It works on occasion but, not all the time. There are times that I let my temper get the better of me before reminding myself that my hormones are controlling the better side of me. I hate that part of my menstrual cycle. Ugh! I wish we could hybernate during our cycles. LOL! I don't sleep very well during menstruation so, that doesn't help my temper either as I am always tired. Couple that with the fatigue and weakness from losing blood...I am a mess during my period.

I guess we all get a little emotion and have frustration around our periods. I have tried reminding myself that I am just emotional because of hormones and my period and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. There have been one or two times that I reminded myself that and then I started crying because I couldn't stop crying. LOL

You might consider going to an herbal remedies store and talking to the owner about seeing if there is anything you can use to help balance you out during your period. I don't know if there is anything. I know that Midol is supposed to help some but, I don't really like the idea of taking unnatural medicines on a regular basis. But, there may be something natural that you can take to keep your natural chemicals a little more balanced.

I get really tearful before myu period it can be anything from two weeks before although the real tearful ness is about 48 hours before. My doctor recommended Evening primrose oil which helps with the hormone imbalance. I have tried it on and off but never really stuck to it and so didn't really find any benefits forit. I have this month stuck to it as last month I was a complete wet blanket before my period and although I still feel weepy it is definately an improvememnt so I am hoping to keep going with them as they definately help me :-).

Yes, this is common for women to go through stages of crying, irritability, moodiness. That is your hormones fluctuating. I started studying biology and I can tell you that we have several different hormones that are called into play and fluctuate before, during, and after the menstrual cycle. Hormones are released from your brain that cause the moods, crying, etc. that you experience. You can find information on many websites that discuss the interplay of the menstrual cycle and hormones.

I am also emotional and also irritable. I tried to handle it in a way that I will not also offend my husband but grea thing is, he knows how to tease and divert my feelings! I will watch any funny scene at you tube or listen to any music so that I can oversome my feelings but i am not afraid to cry when I feel like even for the simple scene in TV!

Me too, Im so emotional. I cry for little things. I'm so sensitive. Sensitive like, touching my hair and other body parts would easily irritate me. I try to not talk to people as much as possible and smile more often. But not talk to them because I might say something that I might hurt them, and they may also say somethings that I dont like to hear. Sometimes, I just rest in my room and watct tv and eat foods that I crave for.

I don't really get the crying. I get the extremely happy or hyper reaction or the devastating effect of getting annoyed or irritated at every little thing. When I know it's near my period and I'm getting one or the other I always keep in mind it's just because of my cycle and try my best to control my emotion. But to be honest, it is harder to do than it seems!

For me it's the week and a half to two weeks before. I'm irritable, snappy, emotional, and exhausted. I could literally hibernate for two weeks until it's time. And the crying....going through that today! I've cried over not being able to think of something to type, I've cried over my printer jamming up....and then I get mad at myself for crying and cry some more. It's not been a good day for me at all.

Yeah, it took me a long time to realize and face the fact that PMS is real for me. I'm sure that mine is not as bad as others. But, I get moody, tired and I eat a lot. I just rough it out. I'm not sure that anyone around me really cares about the whole PMS thing. If I could, though, I would get as much rest as I could around this time of the month. I really think that would help ease my symptoms. Just taking it easy, drinking lots of water and taking life slow.

Emotional? Not me, never happens. I wish that was the case. I'm an emotional wreck. I am emotional before, during and after. I get maybe a week or week and a half of semi-normalcy if I'm lucky. I will cry at the drop of a hat. A commercial could be on and I will burst into tears let alone a movie or TV show. It doesn't take much. It also doesn't take much for my anger to explode. I will snap really easy. How do I deal with it? Just try to get through one moment at a time. I try to avoid things I know that will make me angry. With the crying or sad nothing much seems to help. I tell people, give me chocolate and then run away. It's the safest thing to do.
