what is the best digital camera and why?

there is none! when you go "up" in the point and shoot "stage", you get to a high point. But, DSLRs are digital cameras, too...so, you would go high enough to canon eos 1d Mark III (which costs A LOT). But then, you find out that a DSLR without a good lens = 0. Then, you wonder "what's the best lens?"...and then, you get this: "for what type of photography?"...so, the questions never end...and neither the spending on photographic equipment.

i wanted to have a sony cybershot but my mother bought me a pentax 8 megapixel digital camera 3 days ago. so far the quality is really good since pentax was one of the trusted brand when it comes to cameras

To me, every brand name has one best camera. What the digicam of this brand does not offer, the next brandname does. How consumers rate the cameras depends on what the digicams are used for. Canon still produces the best digicams. Yet, I think Olympus and Nikon are getting very near. If I were to choose, I will say that my own digital camera (I will not mention the brand) is the best, because only I know how to produce the best pictures out of it.

Sony cybershot.......its resolution of the pictures...its capacity to catch the picture clearly if even ur hand is shrinking or person is moving......just check it out online u will like it
