Hi everyone, I was reading something on the yahoo site. There was an article about the top 10 ways to make $$ and do it from home. The first one was Medical Transcription. I was wondering if anybody does this already? I've been toying around with the idea of maybe going back to school for this. Can someone tell me what its all about and do you need prior experience before landing a job in it? Reason being, I had a medical billing & coding license and unless you already have the experience, you can't get a job so I let it expire. Thanks to all who respond.

I am taking a course in medical transcription and I have been looking at online sites that hire transcriptioners to do the work over the internet. I don't know how friendly they are to entry level workers but I would suspect that if you have good grades they would be willing to give you a try. You might do some online research in the job markets and see if you can find any that are wanting entry level people, or send out some emails and resumes and see what comes of it, and then decide if you think it worth going through the training.

i think you need some training to do medical transcription. But it will be easy for you as you are very much close to the field. One of my cousin is doing this and she told that she is earning handful of money from this and even appointed 2 additional resources to help her.But before doing it on her own she worked for some company and now started to do on her own working online.

I haven't considered this myself but a friend has and she told me that catch is that most places want you to work from the office for a few years before they will allow you to work from home. Otherwise, I really can't tell you much about what the job entails.
