ICQ is the most popular in israel? hehe maybe i can add more israel friends in icq. it's popular in earlier years, while the market share has decreased largely in china mainly due to msn and skype. i learn that few people are using yahoo messenger in china.

ICQ just started well here and everyone has one, but messenger is taking over the biz cause more and more ppl like it's usability and you don't need to remember a 9 digit number...

I don't IM very often and have only a couple of contacts listed. For years I have mostly used AIM and I used to use it more often than I do now. I do chat with one friend via yahoo- only because it is now integrated with their mail...I never used it before. I still use AIM when I want to tell my daughter something and don't feel like getting up or if I want to tell my mom something quick- I will check if she is on- she only has aol. I use Skype for talking to my MIL and to chat with my BIL when I have a quick question about our website (he is a web designer). I have no idea what the most popular one is by society's standards- my 14yo daughter and all of her friends use AIM.

As me,i always use QQ and Fetion to contact with my friends on computer. But to contact with others, the best way is send message by mobilephone. With the quicken pace of develepment, there are more and more ways and means for us to contact.for instance,QQ,MSN,Fetion,Email,Wangwang and so on.every way all has their own advangages.I like to use QQ,It's free.you can find anyone who has QQ number.I think QQ is popular among not only young people but also adults in China.most of people have one or more QQ number.with it,I can know some new friends.but i don't like to chat with stranger,I don't know what to say,do we have the same interests to say.I don't know how to start. What about you?so most QQ number in my QQ list are friends and relations or someone i know. I also like Fetion,it is useful,if i have the people's mobilephone number,i could contact with her/him with that.

I love ICQ when it first started.....unfortunately, most of my friends migrated to MSN, and I have to follow suit. After that I used Trillian, a multi-messenger platform that supports ICQ, MSN, Yahoo! and IRC... I also do use Skype sometimes when I need to make VOIP calls. I have credits for SkypeOut and usually use it when I'm overseas and want to make calls back home.. Of course, I also do video conferencing when I can too..

We have msn set up on our computer, although I think that my eldest son is the one that uses it the most, as me and hubby have no friends to contact through msn, we just phone them up if we want to speak to them!

I use MSN messenger. I used to use Yahoo messenger too and I actually prefer that one to MSN but for some reason my pc didn't like it! It kept closing it down - I don't know why. I persevered with it for a while but finally gave up. But most of the people I chatted with had MSN anyway so it wasn't a problem.

I use Yahoo most of the time, but I also have MSN and AIM for those friends who are not on Yahoo. I prefer Yahoo because the smileys are better, I like Launchcast Radio, and I have had fewer security issues with that than MSN. I don't switch my AIM on that often because I think my computer slows with all three messengers open. Brightest Blessings.

I am connected through at&t dsl. My computer seems to rung pretty well with it this far. Of course I have only been with this connection for a little over 2 months now. It's a pretty resonable cost also.

hello, i often use skype and adium as my means of instant communication. i like skype the most coz to me they are the most reliable one compared to the other, just my own opinion! i have never tried using QQ but i heard from my previous chinese friends that they really like it. i guess it is all depends on our preference then. anyway, good luck to everything. have fun with your friends takecare!

I stick with yahoo IM since it can be accessed now just by having your email open. I leave a tab open for my email since I use constantly throughout the day, and it makes sense to just use that IM feature rather than have another program open.

I have not heard of QQ. I have yahoo messenger, but I don't have it installed. I tried to re-install it yesterday, and it made my computer crazy, so have to check into that. I think Yahoo and AOL are the most popular in the US.

The only instant messenger I ever use anymore is AIM. Most of my friends and family have it so it is easier to talk. I tried Yahoo for awhile but it kept freezing up my computer so I un-installed it. I know a few people who chat using the MySpace messenger but I haven't downloaded it and I doubt I will. I don't get on MySpace much anymore.

As for me,just like you I use QQ and msn to communicate with my friends and clients.Skype was also used before when I was in previous company, which wasn't used now due to all the clients of my current company prefer msn as instant communication tool.Compared the three,QQ is my favourite without any particular reasons, and I feel a little strange that the speed of my typping skill by QQ seems faster than by msn.Hoho~~~
