I am lucky I guess, my husband is a bus driver so he drives my daughter to school. She use to ride the bus but we never let her go down there by herself...you never know what can happen at the bus stop!

Well my niece takes the school bus. The school is too far for her to walk. Add to that she'd have to go on some dangerous streets to do it so that puts walking out and the same for riding a bike. I wouldn't mind driving her but with the price of gas now I just can't justify it. The school bus is free for her to take and she doesn't have to walk that far to her stop and she has friends she talks to. This way she does also get some exercise with the walking even if it's only a block there where she wouldn't if I drove her.

i work part time every day from 9 am - 1 pm and my work is only about 5 minutes away by bus, so i walk my younger daughter (she is in grade 5) to the corner by her school and i go catch the bus to work. her school is pretty close to our house, it takes about 7 minutes to walk to her school and the same to the bus.

My daughter will start school in september and I will walk her to school it is only about 1 minute to walk its right on our doorstep which is great. At the moment I take her in the car as her preschool is 20 minutes away in the car so too far to walk
