I have included reading into my hobbies and i do believe reading is greatly important to all of us. A world without reading, needless to say,is backward. The only channel to learn from outside ,to get latest information, to be more advanced disappeared, life becomes meaningless. As the old saying goes, reading is to the mind what water is to fish. We human being can not live out of reading, otherwise our spirits would be dead and the world has no development at all. Can you imagine then?

Quite right, eighty percent of knowledge acquirement goes through our eyes. Reading can also be considered as comprehension of the image or subject infront of us so, we may also consider that we are reading someone's bodily gestures or images like paintings and how it emphasizes not only the emotional influences of the image but also the historical background which contributed to the development of the work.

It really depends on the contents of the books we read. Some do have a good effect while others, oddly have something different. So we could also say that it really depends on the comprehension of the reader to either perceive the content of a particular book as something good or not. Groups of people can actually use books to do propaganda against a currently reigning ruler. Well those were during earlier times. But still, reading does develop thinking so in the sense, either the content be good or bad, it makes us think which makes things really progressive. Have a nice time too

Your words remind me thinking of contents of books we read.Different books abosultely have different effect on our mind. The most advisable way for reading is reading seletively.Read those highly recommended by you friends, read those enjoy good popularities in times,of course,we choose to read books convey positive thoughts but rather than make us cynical.

I can't! Reading is essential. I have so many books, it's not funny and I read them over & over. Reading takes me out of my world and lets me be involved in something else.

Hi, I read all the time, if fact too much sometimes. I have books on every table and corner in my home. I've tried to slow down my reading, but that is just impossible. I discovered book swapping sites and needless to say, if I see it I have to have it. If it is part of a series I won't start reading it until I have all the books in the series. I won't read books on the internet though. I feel that to hold a book in your hands means more than reading it off a screen. DCMerkle

Oh,you are a bookworm!Yes, it is a good habit indeed. I often read books in library or book stores. Most of the book stores are crowded that you have to stand reading for quite a long time,or you sit on the floor wherever you think it is available. The posture is definitely not comfortable for reading, however, you will forget it when you are totally attracted by the book you are reading. I don't read books on the internet either. My eyes are easily tired of staring at the screen too long time.I buy books from the internet at comparably cheap prices. Sitting under soft tablelight quietly and reading booking is rather wonderful.

if i live without reading, i guess my life must be very boring. i love reading. i can acquire much information and knowledge through reading. i prefer reading to watching TV. i quite enjoy the silent perception reading brings to me. it's really nice. :)

To me reading and music are as much a part of who I am as just breathing. I think without my good books to read and my good music to listen to I would just as well curl up and die. My needs are reading and listening to music and working on my compter. they are just as important to my mental health as good healthy food is to my physical health.

Oh, I always loved to read and get a lot of enjoyment out of it. I've always thought it very sad that some people don't like to read, or can't read. I think they miss out on so much. I've often wanted to be involved in an illiteracy program in some way, but don't know if I have what it takes to teach. I know it would be satisfying and very rewarding to me, but I don't know if I've got the patience.

Reading is so important, how can a human live without reading? We read so that we know how much more we don't know, therefore we become humble. People who don't read, they'll act like they know everything! but hell ya~ they are just childish in the eyes of those people who read a lot.
