The discussion I posted yesterday about accidently returning my son's school library book to the public library is all hogwash. I sent in a note this morning to explain to his teacher and librarian what had happened, and I received a note in his book bag this afternoon saying that he had already returned the Komodo Dragon library book early this week. Ok, now I feel silly because I don't even remember putting it in his bag. I think my son took it back without me realising, even though I did ask him and he says he can't remember. I bet this hasn't happened to any of you aye? Now that is a DUH moment too funny!!!

Blonde Moment Award - This week's blonde moment award goes to MaddysMommy!
Ok.. Gabs isn't going to like this one bit my friend, but you have just won this week's Blonde Award... see below! I doubt you put it in his bag at all, and he slid it in because he was eager to get his two books this week. Don't ya just love 'em? Brightest Blessings. I'm glad everything turned out ok in the end. Maddy can draw his own books now, huh? It will save you an extra trip to the library, anyway!

It should of happened on April Fools day then I wouldn't feel so silly He picked two more books called "Dinosaur Tracks" and "The Dragons Are Singing Tonight". He loves dinosaurs and dragons and seems to pick these type of books every week. It's actually nice to get new books once a week to read before he goes to bed.

yea I know and it is even nicer when they pick them themselves. Something they are excited about to read. Have fun, I hope you both enjoy the new books.

i have tried to return a public school book and even one or two of my own to the public library, but if they can't scan it, its not theirs...so i think that everyone has done something like this at some point or another.

oh man! you muster up the courage, make the effort - admit to being absentminded and inadvertently returning it to the wrong library only to find out you didn't.... sounds like something I would do. Did you have a good laugh over it with the librarian?

I did have a good laugh but not with the Librarian as I never got to speak with her. I bet she and the teacher had a good laugh at my note though LOL

I had to laugh when I read this. However, I perfectly understand as I am a mom and I know that things like this happen. I think that these issues are set in life to remind us that we are still human.

Hey at least you had a happening ending. I substitute at one of our local schools, and this does happen. We had a mom do the exact same thing. I was working the day she called in explaining her situation. Luckily, the school librarian also works at the county library and she was able to call and the book was found. Props to your son for returning the book on his own. He is showing lots of responsibility. I know my 6 year old is always very responsible for her books. She loves both the school and public libraries.

Lol, at least you won't have to pay for it. Children are so useless at remembering things, my sister is so forgetful that you say something to her and then literally 3 seconds later, she is all "what did you ask me to do again".
