An if scenario : Your friend and pregnant... financial troubles

If a close friend was pregnant but her finances were not good and she would not be able to take care of the baby would you take care of her baby for her until she was financially set? Would you just give her money and allow her to take care of the baby or would you take the baby from her and allow her to visit the baby as often as she could while she gets set to bring the baby home? I would ofcourse do this in theory, but I am also aware that my own fiance would not condone it. This is not to say that he is heartless in such manners but only to say that he would feel that although very helpful and very caring as the situation might be if we were to take in this hypothetical baby, we ourselves have our own finances that we need to keep in check and set forth so that we may be able to provide what is necessary for our own financial freedom.
