The girl from next door want to be a rock star.She has been taking music lessons since ever with the idea that someday she can be a famous rock singer. I admit she's talented in many ways, but being a rock star is really a long shot.
First of all ,she is not pretty at all.You see those pop stars,they are all so hot and pretty.Bue she,I don't know how to say,with no affense,she is kind of ugly,although she has a beautiful voice.Entertainment industry is very complicated and sophisticated,it need way too much than just a beautiful voice.I don't want to judge her dream,but it just seems a long shot.
What do you think?Should she give up?or she hold her guns?

i feel she should continue with her dream of being a super rockstar and not just a rock star.we have many rock stars who aren't pretty at all moreoevr,they appear even morbid to look at.the kind of stunts they too is too amazing and marvellous.dreaming is one thing but believing and working towards making it happen is quite another one.and also it needs a lot of courage.looks might not matter if you're really good at what you do!i wish her all teh best in her endeavours!

I say if she enjoys it let her pursue it. You never want to tell someone they cant do something. If shes got the talents whats it hurt if she tries. It may break her heart when it doesnt work but at least its strangers doing the breaking not someone she knows.

Ugh, she should definitely go for it. If she's got talent, then why not use it.
The whole "you've got to be pretty to be in this business" thing is just stupid. Most of the bands I adore don't have "pretty" people in them. I thought the pretty thing was for mainstream pop crap etc.
What kind of bands influence her? What does she sing along to?

My partner is a signer/song writer, plays guitar and keyboards and has been for many years. He is bright, talented, good looking and has a great voice BUT despite all these years in the business he has yet to break into the big time. These days you need more than talent and good looks, you need a huge helpful of luck.
If she thinks she can do it, then great, but try to make her aware that it will be a long, hard and often rocky road.

I think she should stick to it. I personally don't think all the musical talent in the world has a pretty face to display. It shouldn't be about what the person looks like on the outside, but rather what talent they have! She should do her best, and try to get noticed. I wish her luck.

ever hear of makeup, you don't have to be pretty to be a rock star actually most of them look like freaks to me with big black makeup hair in all different colours, freaky looking clothes, what is pretty about that?

Oh they aren't all beautiful on the outside at all. I would never squash a young girls dreams. Do you really think mick jaggar was hot or keith richards? Tom petty? Ok so i'm coming up with mostly male vocalists here. I don't listen to many female vocalists but I doubt they are all "hot". If the girl has talent then you should encourage her. I don't think you should ever give up on your dreams. I agree that too much is based on looks in this industry but come on...let's not promote it. It shouldn't be. And truthfully it is the women that they are most biased towards. There are so many unattractive males that have made it big in that world.

Is that your noisy neighbour?? LOL ^_^ Looks is very important in the entertainment world, but it takes real solid talent and skills to survive in the entertainment world too.. Have u watched the korean movie, 200 pounds beauty?? The lead actress went for comestic surgery in order to fulfil her dreamz to be a singer, and she did it.. She did have the vocal power, just that she dun have the looks.. In the end, she went for plastic surgery, and she became famous.. lOL
