You cannot improve the strength of the University transmitter, but you can improve the reception with a decent router. There are several makes available and it makes little difference which company's product you use providing that you buy a recent model. Most routers now use 802.11g as the standard, which should be more than adequate for a good connection as long as the distance involved is not too great.

well it all depends on MPS megabyts per second lets say your university have a 100.0 mps well if u have a labtop they come with wireless conection some of them can get about 30 mps if you want to get anywhere close to the university 100.0mps u would need a wireless router that has a good mps.. that way the more mps u get the faster your next will be

Asylum has given you some good advice. Although he did neglect to mention Wireless N (802.11n) as an option. Wireless N is now commonplace, although I am unfamiliar with availability of products and prices in Malaysia. I recommend Linksys because they are the home brand of products from Cisco Systems. Linksys products are very good quality.

You could always call a place that sells them and ask what they think. I prefer linksys cause it is what i own and it is wonderful. As for makingthe wireless stronger i dont know. Contact someone and ask them unless someone on here knows good luck.
