Asylum responded to a discussion called Has your Computer Hard Disk space enough for you....?? in computer.
I would expect 320 Gb to more than adequate for a laptop, so I can only assume that you are storing a vast amount of music and video on the hard drive. This can easily be rectified by storing it on an external drive. As for having enough space, I am sure that we would all like to have more whether we need it or not. With the current hard drives holding up to 2 Tb of data we could build a compu...

Asylum responded to a discussion called How is your experience with Windows 7 in computers.
I installed the Beta version when it was released and then the RC version, so I have been using Windows 7 for 7 or 8 months now. I was impressed by windows 7 from the start and expect it to become the most popular version to date. Sadly, as with all previous Windows versions, the price is the only downfall.

Asylum responded to a discussion called How can we send many Pictures as email attachments in internet.
You can reduce the data volume by using either a zip program or Winrar to compress the pictures, but make sure that the person receiving the email has the right software to decompress the attachment. The number and size of pictures that you can send will depend on your ISP because many of them will have limits of the size of email that you can transmit, and the recipient may also have limits o...

Asylum responded to a discussion called Can someone explain this to me? in mylot.com.
The star rating is not related to any level decided by Mylot, so you do not have to do anything wrong to acquire a lower figure. The rating is generated by + or - ratings from other members for your discussions and responses, which makes the figure a little inaccurate. A lot could depend on who has read your discussion or response, which may be excellent from one person's opinion and poor from...

Asylum responded to a discussion called .iso files converted to dvd in computers.
There are many ways of converting an ISO file without the need of extra software. If you have a CD or DVD burning program such as Nero or Roxio then they will burn the image to a disk for you. Windows 7 even burns ISOs directly simply by double clicking on them. If you a copy of Winrar it should also extract the contents of an ISO.

Asylum responded to a discussion called what is the best windows for my computer?xp,2000 professional, vista, windows 98 in computer.
This will vary for each computer and depends on the available system resources. If the computer is very modern than you could try Windows 7, which is an excellent operating system. However, if the computer is a few years old then you may find that Windows XP is the better choice, and for a system about 10 years old I would recommend Windows 98. I would not recommend Windows Vista, and if your...

Asylum responded to a discussion called A salesman rang my bell--at 8PM! in home security.
There is nothing paranoid about being wary of admitting strangers to your house at night time. This is the type of advice that we are all given but often forget. It is quite likely that he was genuine because so many people are now fed up with salespeople that he could be trying to complete a day's work. Nevertheless, we often hear about people gaining admittance to homes under false pretenses...

Asylum responded to a discussion called How To Keep My Windows PC Updated? in computer.
The automatic update settings can be changed, as a previous poster has already explained. I agree that it is worthwhile using automatic updates for such a new operating system because features are likely to change quite frequently. You can always go to the Windows Update website and select what you want, but allowing Windows to run this automatically is far easier. You can set Windows Update ...

Asylum responded to a discussion called 100th mylot post in mylot.com.
Congratulations on reaching the 100 post level, the first 100 is always the hardest 100 to reach. I do not think that the earnings system will be affected, but you may fell that earning is easier now because you have become more familiar with the site. Mylot can be a little difficult at first, but once you have chosen a few interests and made a few friends it becomes easier to find the discuss...

Asylum responded to a discussion called What is your take on Windows 7? in computers.
Windows Vista was not as bad as the general public tended to suggest. The problems were compatability, which would disappear in time as computers become updated, and the need for greater system resources which has always been the case with a new operating system. As for Windows 7, it is a vast improvement on Vista and should prove to be the best Windows released so far. I started with Windows ...
