Do you have grandchildren, and how often do you see them?

Phoebe at Christmas - This is my granddaughter Phoebe Marie. After opening her gifts like a mini tornado, she had to try on all her new jewelry and clothes right away. This is my favorite photo of her, as it shows her eyes are 2 different colors. And she is as unique as her eyes.

I have 1 granddaughter, and love her to pieces. Unfortunately, her mother won't allow me to see her anymore, as my son is behind in his support payments. I use to be able to see her a lot, and she loved to spend the night with us. We would play dress up, and she would do my hair, and put my make-up on. More often than not, I would look pretty silly, like a clown, but I enjoyed it so much. She had so much fun making me look pretty...lols We had many good times together. I wonder if her mom understands how wrong she is to keep Phoebe away from her grandparents...I feel she is punishing her daughter for her daddy being behind in payments. I look forward to the time Phoebe is old enough to see whom she wants.

A very sad story, indeed. Without wanting to belittle your suffering, I believe it´s real, it´s just another sad tale of young children being used as pawns in their parent´s battle. Now, apart from that, I bet you miss her. Children are just gorgeous, they keep things down to basics in a way. I want to say they are not as ´sophisticated´ as us adults. Honestly, I trust children more than I trust adults. They haven´t learned yet to ´think´ as much as grown-ups. I hope you will be able to see her more frequently.

Oh your granddaughter is missing out so. Does she think your son will see her if she's with you? I hope she changes her mind - she will benefit as well as her daughter. I don't have any grandchildren yet and am looking forward to just those crazy things to do.

Thank you all for joining this discussion. I appreciate your kind thoughts. I indeed would let my son see his daughter if they wanted to see each other, which they do. I could never keep a loving parent away from their child. These 2 are very much alike, and they love each other. It's not right to keep them apart because of financial reasons. Everyone hits bad spots. The mother is also with-holding all the financial help and love me and Phoebe's gran'pa want to give.

Nope I don't have any, but I don't even have kids, so it would be a little hard :)

I am not old enough to have grandchildren, but I married an older man, and he has LOTS of grandchildren!! Unfortunately, they are scattered all over the USa, and we really don't get to see them often enough...

I don't have any grandkids yet. My kids are 8 and 14 months, so it better be quite awhile before I am a grandma. It is not fair of your granddaughters mother to keep her away from you because of your son falling behind in payments. I hope she gets a clue and changes her mind soon.

As a grandmother,i can't imagine what you're going through.I think it's very selfish of the mother to do this.Whatever is going on between her and your son has nothing to do with you.I think having loving grandparents can only inhance a childs life. I have one grand, and if for some reason i wasn't allowed to see him i dont know what i'd do.I hope that time quickly resolves this problem. And i wish you all the best.
