Hi there I am a college student and I want to keep in fit...And I do like jogging in the morning, you know those fresh air, lovely birds, especially in a mountainous area where my college lies in. However, I just find it hard to get up early and start running. Everytime I told myself OK this time I have to make it and just after three or four days I will quit that and just stay in bed for another hour... So, for those who are always energetic enough to bounce up every morning and put on your running shoes, could you give any advice on how to keep the enthusiasm for taking exercise in the morning? Or, put it simple, how do you manage to get up early every morning? Thanks.

I used to have trouble in struggling to get up in the morning for some exercise, and there was a time when I kept the habit very well. But as a college student, there are a lot of work to do and I don't think you will have enough time to sleep, let alone to do exercise in the morning, especially when you become senior. Now I still keep the habit of jogging, not in the morning, but in the evening--around 20:00-21:30. I learned that jogging in the evening is good for health, but not in the morning. I think you should give it a shot. It is easier to set a habit of jogging in the evening than in the morning.

if you have difficulty getting up in the mornings, you can always opt to jog in the afternoon. i have a shiftign schedule at work and i try to squeeze in my running after work. if i work in the mornings, i jog at a nearby park here in the office after i get out. if my work is in the afternoon, i get up early and jog at a nearby oval track in our vilalge. its' really a matter of fixing your schedules and beign disciplined enough to stick to it.

I wouldn't know. I have great respect for people, young and old, you can get up early to their morning jog. I suppose the first step to transitioning to such a habit would be to get one of those automatic coffee makers with a timer. Set the coffee brewing just before you get up. Stumble into the kitchen, pour a thermos of coffee, and start walking. Once you can get used to getting up and walking for a few minutes in the morning, then you might find it easier to get up and start jogging. It is really all about setting a habit. To do that, you have to do something you can sustain for at least 30 days -- or so they say. So, once you have a habit of getting up 45 minutes early, then you can get a habit of jogging during some of that time. I hope this helps.
