what do you think are parents selfish or their children???? i do think that parents are selfish atleast in the pakistani culture. but this does'nt mean that we should disobey or misbehave with them.. my point is that they try to govern the life of thier children even after 18+. everyone has a right on their life. every child has its specific talent in some specific field but in our society they don't see that, they just want to see their children on that peak which they think is the best for us though the child does'nt have ability to compete in that field. i do not think they are making thier child's future secure but actually they are making their own future secure because here we have payback to our parents.... what do you think????

for me, parents are not selfish. they are just trying to protect their children. as the old saying goes "parents know what's best for their children". =) also, they've been through a lot.. experiences.. stuffs like that.. =)

absolutely they do what they think is best for their children but a 18+ has some rights over his life, might he/she not like the way is treated.

Well im in the UK my girls will grow up and do what they wish to I wont make them do something simply to protect myself when im old my future will be secure as long as my child are happy and healthy tats the most important thing for me but as I say im in the UK and I think everything is more relaxed here although you do get the odd parent who will try and force their children to be something they dont want to be ultimatley the only thing they will make their child is unhappy.

that what i m talking about in western countries parents give free hand to children in making decisions but here this does'nt happen. children's future are always pre-planned by parents even before they are born........
