Hi all you readers, I was wondering how many of you cry or at least feel emotional when you read a touching novel? I absolutely love novels, i like all sorts, romantic, suspense, thrillers. My favourite is by Nicholas sparks. I just love his novels, its so romantic n touching. And if i get to some point which really toches me, i feel really emotional n also cry sometimes. Well watching movies n crying is normal, but reading n crying, just depends on the way the author potrays his story.....

All the time! To be honest it doesn't always have to be a particularly touching novel either. I cry at most - but then I am very in touch with my emotions lol. Kite Runner, Thousand splendid suns (though only a little), Half of a Yellow Sun, My sister's keeper, tenth circle, most of the fiction I read really.

wow, your choices of novel genre definitely goes with mine too. i love those genres you mentioned. and i just remembered nicholas sparks when you mentioned. i don't read his books often as i can't find them thus i tend to forget about him. the authors i read more often are usually nora roberts, linda howard, marlisse melton and the list goes on. i'm not really a sentimental person, but when it comes to books and i'm alone, yes i do tear a little if it really touches me. same goes for movies too. i tend to tear up if i'm usually alone. if there are others, i hold it in as i'm shy you could say. it's embarassing basically for me.

As for me it is always a submerged sorrowfulness when getting myself involved deeply in the subject matter of a novel or work of fiction. An emotional outburst in the form of tears is better avoided. It would be too much sentimentalism if you engage in extreme sorrow over a fictitious event or happening.
