In Debate the Loser Is...ABC!!

There are literally thousands of articles about Wednesday night's Democratic debate but here's a link for just one of them: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/04/17/AR2008041700013_pf.html I couldn't agree more! With the first 52 minutes of the two hour debate being devoted to "tabloid gossip" you'd think we had no problems whatsoever to speak of in this country, no important issues worth discussing! The fact that George Stephanopoulos got some of his questions from Sean Hannity's radio show doesn't do much to add to his, his colleague Charlie Gibson's or their network's credibility. Questions such as "Does Reverend Wright love America as much as you do?" and about wearing or not wearing a flag lapel pin, asking each candidate to agree to serve as the other's running mate without addressing either one by name who they knew who should answer first only served to show how much better MSNBC and CNN do when it comes to political coverage in general and debate broadcasts in particular. Does anyone here agree with me - and apparently many other voters - or do you think ABC did the candidates and the viewers justice? Annie

Honey I can not be bothered with the waste of time it would take to sit and listen to these people lie and justify and make excuses and empty promises. I research each person and decide who I will vote for...I stay away from the hype inducing activities.... oxxoxoxoxoxoxo

You've got the right idea, Raydene, but it seems these days it's hard to know if you're getting accurate information or lies and exaggerations from the opposition these days. It's the perfect example of "good news/bad news" - it's good news that there's so much news available but it's BAD news that there's so much of it to sort through to get to the unbiased truth, if that even exists anymore. That as a total mess I would have to say. I think that channels specializing in the news have better reporters in general who are more capable of asking better questions to evoke better responses!

Why thank you, Cheese! :) I would love a shot at some kind of office! Or at least a shot at those trying to get in office!

I'm not really sure. I will be so glad when the debate is overwith and we can move on. I wish for nothing but the best for our future.
