Not long ago my answer would have been shoes but I'm proud to say that I've down on my shoe spending at least 90%! Now I would have to say I spend most of my money on food. Being on a fixed income and only getting a check once a month makes it hard to do grocery shopping whenever I need any thing so I've learned to stock up and freeze a lot of things. What is the one thing you spend the most money on?

You said it all- food today is just too expensive, I cant even manipulate my fixed income to buy a shirt anymore-and this is truely worrying!!

I very rarely have money to buy clothes and shoes these days, my daughters tend to treat me at Christmas or my birthday to a shopping spreee like that. Most of my money after paying rent and bills does go on shopping for food even though I always buy the unbranded cheaper labels. Its catch 22 as fuel prices go up so do food prices, in fact everything rises except for tha amount of money we have to live on eh! Pasta is still very cheap and I make a lot of nutricious meals with that and also like you cook double the amounts and freeze for another time. Ellie :D

After paying the rent and buying food my biggest expenditure is on books. I don't pay much for them as I only buy them used and never pay full price. But I do buy two or three books every week. I can't stop myself. I love to spend time browsing and finding books I want to read. I dont' have a television and I think that would cost me more than I spend on books.
