Reflection on the Unconditional Love of Pets

I have had a couple of cats and a dog for around six months now. True, they love me unconditionally. I mean, they really care for me, not just for the food I give them. In fact, I have felt more loved by my pets than by human beings. So, I can safely say that my pets love me unconditionally. I too love my pets back unconditionally. And this has never happened with a human being. Of course, I have loved human beings too, but there were always some expectations or the other. If not big expectations, at least small ones. And there was a always a degree of disappointment in the relationships. It was never ever smooth and free-flowing like my relationship with my pets. So, what about your relationships with your pets? In what way is it different from your relationships with the people in your life? Cheers and happy Mylotting

Hehehe, my mother has accused me of only caring about my cats. But it is so easy to love them! They love me whether I am grouchy or happy, whether I am ignoring them or doting on them, whether my breath stinks or my armpits reek, they still love me if I accidentally tromp on their tail or send them flying across the room when they accidentally get in front of my feet while I am speeding off somewhere. They love me whether I am too busy to feed them or try to feed them something they hate. They are cute, their antics can be hilarious, and they can ALWAYS make me laugh. They are my best friends (except for my kids), and I even love them when they are getting on my nerves like meowing in my ear when I am trying to concentrate on something, or kicking cat sand all over the floor, or bringing birds in to finish killing off in my kitchen, or when they puke on the floor and I step on it in bare feet when I get up to go potty in the middle of the night. I even love them when I wake up in the middle of the night choking from the cat hair stuck in my throat and when fleas jump on me in my bed! I'm just gonna stop right here or I will end up going on forever! I LOVE MY LITTLE DARLINGS!!

Probably it is the kind of "give and take" policy that we have... Invariably all are selfish in a way.. but the degree to which it plays in us, has the proportionate effects on the society.. and this is not so in case of our pets.. as they need nothing from the society except for a good master like you.. The world( need) for the them (pets) just ends with their master.. and for us.. it is always ever growing and everlasting. Thank you, Everlasting for bringing this topic to live...

Actually Sai, I am not the world for them. The cats, for example, have several interests such as fish, frogs, butterflies, the neighbors and their activities, the neighbors dogs, and well, the list is endless. Thanks for bringing alive another discussion. Cheers and happy mylotting
