Do you make a big deal about your very young kid's birthdays?

We almost have a three year old boy on our hands! His birthday is April 21, but we are celebrating today since dad works late on Mondays. I definitely think 3 is a good age to have a party and get him gifts, but when he turned 1, I didn't really want to throw him one. We ended up celebrating with a lot of friends and family. I have to say I am glad we did it. Even though he will not remember, we have memories for him on dvd and photos. He is very excited about his party today and it's nice to talk about his first and second birthday with him. He already likes to reminisce.

just a normal birthday will be ok like what did you did in his 1st birthday, he will be happy & your friend & family, celebrating in mc donalds or other restaurant that with clowns is fine.

I have never had a party for either of my kids birthdays. Up till now they have all been just about family. I know my son will want to start having parties with kids from school soon enough (he is 8), but until then they are just with family.

We do not have children, but we have nieces and nephews. My youngest nephew turnes two today. We always have pwrties for their birthdays. even if they do not understand what it means they do understand that they are the center of attention that day, and that we all love them. I think it is important to show them that all the time, but it is still nice to hold parties for them. The older siblings and cousins think it is great as well. hope you'll have a great celebration! Yes we had a lovely party for my grandsons third birthday..it was held in a play centre..with all of the families from both sides.... They had lots of playing on the equipment....and they were well supervised...we had a wonderful time watching them!! Then they had a small room..where he and all of hs friends went into for tea...they had a good little tea...and then they all got a goody bag...we all took photos...an although he knew it was his special day...I dont think that he quite got the whole thing....but everyone enjoyed it...adults as well!!!! Then at the end he has his cake ..we all sang to him....
