do you use a yellow or blue highlighter to mark important notes when reading ???? If do not, how do you remember the important points??? If you have any methods or techniques, I would be appreciated?

No. I really don't like to mark up a good book. If it is old, I will mark it up.

ya, i don't really mark with highlighters in my books. i get kinda annoyed when the highlighter bleeds through a page or something, and sometimes, i can't remember where i highlighted something. i prefer using something like sticknotes if i hav to mark important spots...this way, they won't damage the book, plus it's a lot easier to locate. hope this has helped!

I don't used a higlighter when marking improtant notes. What I do is underlined them then transfer it to my reviewer with a brief notes/description.

Hi, normally i will not highlight the important point in a book but i will do so if my study materials are those photostated notes. The method that i used is i will copy the important points (mainly on key words) from the books to a small notes book. This can help for memorised it easily. Sometimes, i will draw some chart/graph/picture to show the relationship/overall picture on what i have studied.Just some tips to share with you all, according to my friend who study Biology, she told me it is not so good to use the highlighter in yellow color. This is because this color is not good to our brain.

I highlight using a blue highligher only. I like blue, it stands out, plus I have used books that are mostly marked in yellow. Using blue means I know which are my marks. I also write in the margin if there is something I really want to remember about that point.

It depends. When I'm doing a research or a study I have to highlight what I think are important points. Then I write a note beside it what I think about it at the moment. I also highlight difficult words as I read through the chapter and then go back to them and look them up in the dictionary. Otherwise it will disrupt my reading if I look them up one by one as I go through them.

No,i don't use a highlighter to mark important notes when reading, because most of the books i read are borrowed from the library.and it not allowed to put anything on the books. if i find something important when reading,i usually write them down on a new exercise book.and by doing this i can remember the important points.

I've never highlighted any book since i don't want any marks on them..if i need to take notes on the book then a separate piece of paper will do, or a journal notepad..to jot down things

I do not use highlighters. It can destroy a potentially good book. I take notes if I have too. Imagine, I do not even remove the price tags of books that I have bought the reason for such action is that to prevent any tear when peeling the tags off and so that the person who's borrowing my books will know how much it did cost me to buy that book. Hehehehe.

The only books I have ever highlighted were school textbooks. There were times when it was easier to just highlight rather than trying to write down everything the instructor wanted us to remember for examinations. That being said, I didn't highlight in every book for every class. There were just some instructors that this worked better with. That and after a while, I started re-thinking what I was doing. I don't even really know why, but one day I decided I no longer wanted to highlight in my textbooks. I guess I sort started thinking that highlighting was really defacing the books more than anything else. And for that reason, I stopped highlighting so the books could be kept in pristine condition. But back to the original question, when I first started highlighting, I never highlighted in regular books like novels or anything like that--just texts. I only used yellow at first in my textbooks. But then I sort of expanded and had sort of a system or pattern of colors I'd use. I can't remember what exactly my system was, but I would use yellow to highlight some things, blue for others, and pink and green for yet others. Needless to say, I had some pretty colorful texts when I was done. lol Now as for some sort of system of colors, maybe you could do something like this. If you are reading a book which is broken down into chapters that have multiple points in each, you could use one color (say, blue) for the main point or subject headers. Then you could switch to maybe yellow for any subpoints mentioned in the chapter. If there are references to other books or articles you may want to research or read at a later time, you could use pink on them so they don't get lost or forgotten as you read. If you make any pertinent notes in the margins or thoughts have while reading, you could highlight those in green so they too stand out when you go back and scan the book again at a later time. Hope you have a wonderful day, and happy reading (and maybe even highlighting). :-)

I used a highlighter and writing in the margins sometimes when reading books for school to make studying or homework easier later. There were a few instances that I actually had to take seperate notes while reading in order to understand what I was reading that was a pain but it worked. I can't think of any other way other than taking notes or highlighting, I think taking notes works better than highlighting though.

Would never consider marking a book, can easily ruin a great book When ever I was studying a book would just write notes on an A4 pad and if ncessary write page number and line to refer back to

I don't use highlighters when reading literary materials. But I use ballpen to highlight the passages I want. It is neater compared to colored highlighters that are available commercially which usually blot on paper.

Hi goergineo.. I used to do it and my preferred color was yellow. When I was at school, I always highlighted important points on my first reading so it would be easier for me to remember then on my second reading. But on good books that arent for school purposes which I am still doing until now I put some small size post it paper on a certain pages and write down important notes. I dont want to ruin such good books.

When I was in college, I always use highlighter when reviewing our lesson or reading something. I usually highlight words or phrases that I need to remember for my exam. I use yellow highlighter as well.
